It seems to me Infiniti is trying very hard to justify their recent increases in price, particularly for options. Re-branding is a common method to do this, particularly in the auto industry. I've try a number of times to justify the difference in new price compared to my 2007 M35 and keep scratching my head as to the rationale for the increases. There are subtle omissions in the new models that are now either optional, or not available.
I'm not sure that Infiniti will be successful in this strategy. They are now treading in the premium car territory and there is very stiff competition from the likes of Lexus, Audit, BMW, and others.
Don't get me wrong, I really like my Infiniti, but a Lexus, it is not.
