I just got an email form a friend of mine at Lexus who told me that Infiniti will be entering the Hybrid SUV market and have a competing vehicle to the upcoming Lexus RX400h.

They told me that it will be dropped into the FX platform (FX45h?).

And the best part is they are buying the hybrid technology from Toyota/Lexus.

(They're will also unveil a hybrid Altima as part of the same deal).

Take care,

Yoshi

Auto Spies perspective: What a great strategy by Toyota/Lexus! Sell the technology to other manufacturers, which cuts your production costs so you can have the highest profit margin cars AND bring down the price of hybrids, in the marketplace.

Those damn things are so ugly. My mom calls them the end result of what happens when someone sits on a balloon and puts four wheels under it.

Now you're talking about those being ugly... While I've always LOVED the Q45 I recall having a conversation on how much I didn't like the J30, then I ended up loving and owning one years later.

At first I didn't like the FX, but it's growing on me. The QX is still my favorite SUV though.

Toyota and Nissan are actullay co-venturers in hybrid technology research, but everyone knows it is Toyota who was in the lead along with Honda.
