my infiniti j30 has a shifting problem,when i am driving below 40mph i get stuck between gears when i accelerate it sounds like the engine is racing,and i have to pull over and restart the car,can anyone give me some advice of what can it be

Check the ATF level asap.have you ever flushed the fluid in your transmission ??Filter change ??More data is needed.

The symptoms you describe are almost exactly what happens when the transmission revolutions sensor starts to go. I'm pretty confident you need a rev sensor. Check your ECU for the code to be sure (the "how to" for checking your ecu is written up as a "stuck" item and stuck on main J30 forum page).
