i work at an infiniti and nissan car dealership and i was bored one day so i decided to take apart an infiniti start button and accent lights to see if it'd be possible to switch out my orange start button and add some cool interior lights.

this is what i ended up with:

i love the way my cabin looks at night now its got a sleek feel and ambiance to it. like a full moon shinning through the sun roof. it makes the chrome trim "steal" accents shift knob etc.. look pretty cool. however this is the best pic i could muster up.

if anyone is interested i could do a write up on this; whole process took about 10 to 15 min and is pretty much plug and play. i could find some preices on parts and maybe hook it up.

let me know what you think.

I think he took a physical Infiniti start button and put it in the car.

To do that, pull down the underside of your dash on the right hand side (just yank) then pull out the instrument cluster (just pull)... then the start button is held in by a wire harness, and one of those tab connectors.

To change the color of the light is a soldering job... something that Surman has been doing...

The accent lights however.. that im interested in seeing what was done!

ill do a full write up on it, hopefully i can have it up by tomorrow or monday.but you can just pop the start button out just using a screwdriver. the actual unit is 3 pieces: the button, the chrome shroud, and the lights in the back. the you just unplug the light part and plug into your car. easy as pie. no dash removal.
