I was driving down the road today and saw a black infiniti skyline, I have never seen this car befor. I have been trying to find matching pictures of it on the net, but cant. It was a two door with the infiniti eblem on the trunk and said skyline below it, it was a new car. But I dont know what year, what a nice looking car even better than the nissan 350 I think. I thought that the skyline carried the nissan logo and not the infiniti emblem can any one clarify this for me? If any one has links or pics of the last skyline made I would appriciate it. I will buy one of these car's its just a question of when.

Ever seen a 240SX w/a Silvia badge on it? Same thing, basically. In JDMland, the 'Infiniti G35' (both coupe and sedan) = 'Nissan Skyline'. Sounds like someone went half-assed on the badging and didn't replace the Infiniti badge with a Nissan one.

For your viewing pleasure:

http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/lineup.html

Click on 'Skyline Sedan' and 'Skyline Coupe'. Then open up a separate window and pull up:

http://www.infiniti.com

Look at the 'G Sedan' and 'G Coupe'. Notice the resemblance?

Yeah, a lot of people rebadge their Gs, though that's the first I've seen with both the Infiniti logo and the Skyline badge--definitely better...I like the Infiniti logo more than the hamburger.

I never thought of a nissan logo as a hamburger. I think more of it as a "motor" symbol.

NO it didnt look like that, the emblems are similar but the rear/lights were a diffrent shape, and it didnt have the 350 or GT on it, and it didnt have the trunk fin thing. It must of been rebadged like minister of doom stated I will find a picture and post it here. Thanks for the help.

Indeed.

Of course, it is also entirely possible that someone put Skyline badges on ANY Infiniti, just because they felt like it. GT-R emblems on cars they don't belong on are very common. Hell, my old Ford had a Mercedez Benz emblem on the hood and a Caravan logo on the tailgate.

But, just for reference: the G35 Sedan

Although it's tail lights are pretty much identical to the coupe's...

Yeah, I'm not too much of a fan of re-badging a car, but I can concede the US G35 is our version of what is sold as a Skyline in JDM.

Now the other day I saw a Mazda Protoge5 re-badged as a Lexus IS, front a rear emblems ...

i had seen a red G35 coupe w/ skyline badges a number of monthes back.i used to have an 88 honda accord with all badges removed ,Md. plates, and all whited out. I lived in brooklyn and got a parking ticket, ticket guy had no idea what kind of car and left it blank, got off ticket for incomplete.when i re registered in NY (thus having vehicle type in front window registration) i put Dodge emblems on rear of car and used to get off tickets for improperly written.

We shouldn't dog on people that rebadge their cars. I've heard that can add significant horsepower gains.

Well nothings adds ponies like a large whale tail, but the re-badge should add 2-5 hourse in most applications

Speaking of GT-R, I saw a '99+ Mustang GT-R on the way home yesterday.

That's definitely a GT-R. Flared fenders and GT-R wheels.
