Hey Guys - I was wondering if it is possible to change out the lights on the side door rail that lights up Infiniti.
I want to change it to white instead of the orange color? Anybody know or done it before?

There was a thread in here about this idea. If I remember correctly, it is a sealed unit. There was a Aussie bloke named Max - he was going out on the edge all alone, to dismantle the unit and see if it is possible to change colours. He was supposed to come back to us with the results. That was last year. He was never heard from again.

Seriously, though there really was a thread about this and far as I know, there was no final answer good or bad. I personally haven't looked into it. I'm waiting for someone to post how they did it.

I asked an LED shop in my area (San Jose,CA) the dude said that the lights are welded on so not possible to change the bulbs, need to buy a new side rails.

I was afraid that would be the outcome. Infiniti did the same with the A/C NAV Radio switch assembly - a circuit board with the LEDs embedded in it.

well you could remove the complete assembly and run EL tape and it will shine through the lettering
the gauge cluster i believe you can swap w/ a later model...

I believe that is true. If you have an 06-07 M, the speedo and Multi-switch (A/C-Radio-NAV) from an 08 M will fit your car (according to a previous thread) and it will have the newer blue-ish white colouring.
