Hey my mom was talking to one of his co-workers who bought a 240sx and he told her that you can put Infiniti Q(some # i think 45) rotors instead of the 240sx rotor and they are much cheaper also.

Can it be Done ?

It would be calipers and rotors, I think it would be 92 - 96??

The Q uses two piston calipers upfront [vs the single piston the 240]

I don't really see them on eBay that much.. just the 4 piston calipers from the 300ZX. Some people say the 300ZX 4 piston calipers lockup really easily so they prefer the less "tricky to use" 2 piston calipers.. I've read that putting a 4 piston caliper up front with the stock brakes in the back will cause some undesired side affects while braking, but have also read that the previous statement is not true and it works fine..

In both setups you would probably want to get the MC from the Q or 300ZX (depending on which setup you go with) to ensure a nice firm pedal during braking.

i had heard the same thing too. what kind of price difference are we talking? and what is the cost of our rotors and calipers vs the cost of a q's?

Best thing to do is use a set of Q rotors from a junker.

I cant recall exact pricing, but they're not unreasonable...

From the Q45, you all would want to use hte 90-96, or the G50 model series...

You can call our sponsor, Everything infiniti and ask them how much a set of 94 Q rotors would be!

No you would need to get them redrilled at a machine shop to a 4x114.3 bolt pattern.

I would search the 240 forums and the suspension forums. I know its a common mod for S13 guys so it should be well documented.....

You can always post in infiniti general, thats where all the Q guys hang out. Who knows, someoone may have an extra set around. I recommend scouring the suspension forum first, because you type in anytrhing in the 240 general search youll be digging through postwhoring for HOURS!

well in order to use Infiniti Rotors, u gotta have 2 piston calipers also ?

Im not really planning on having a brake upgrade yet, im just trying to find the best deal on rotors/pads. (cuz the ones i have are completely worn down)

keep the stock rears and just get ss lines, good brake pad(axxis), and maybe a cross drilled rotor.

I would imagine you would just need to have another set of adapter plates made for the rear. Cant be THAT complicated. The only thing is, what brake lines to use. Would ss lines for either of the 2 cars work?

from my understanding you can't use either the 200 or q45 rear brake's unless you go five lug. And even if you do it is hard to hook up the e-brake lines correctly.

Q45 calipers are a direct replacement with no other mods needed.

Unless you are going to build a serious hardcore track car, you have no need to upgrade your rear calipers. But if you have to, get the 300zx rear calipers, but at this time wyou will definelty have to get a bigger MC

actually, imo, even if youre not building a serious track car, it would be nice to have rear rotors that are 5 lug because they came that way and not because they were drilled to fit. the nice thing about the rear rotors on the 240 though, theyre not exactly small. its the fronts that are tiny.

there is really no need for that much stopping power IMO

I look at brakes like horse power, you can never have too much. Of course I doubt I ever go that far. Why are the rears so hard to do?

maybe not, but it would be nice to have matching components.
