I need to replace the low beam Xeon driver side headlamp bulb on my 2002 QX-4. Has anyone done this? I removed the round circular cover from the rear of the headlamp assembly. There is black rectangular module which is the back of the bulb assembly. It turns about 1/8 of a turn but does not come out. Any ideas on getting it out so the bulb can be replaced. Also anyone have recommendations on where to get bulbs, the dealer wants $316, online I found Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale they only want $216, anybody use them? I tried a search on Xeon Headlamp bulb replacement which returned zero results

Thanks

Gucci36:

I am in the same situation... Only I have a 2001 QX4. Dealer by me in St. Louis wants $299.99 per bulb!!! Absolutely insane... Needless to say I didn't, and I hope you didn't, get it from the dealer.

Here is what I did find out, however. Supposedly this "Akinaboy" on ebay is the place to go. I just found his ebay store tonight, and found a wealth of information on the matter. Let alone, the price for the bulbs are only like $80 for the pair! http://stores.ebay.com/HID-CONCEPT

It seems that our models use the HID-D2R bulb for low-beam. Check this site to make sure it's the same for 02 as 01. http://www.sylvania.com/Consum...Guide

I can't seem to find much on installation, which I'm confident I can do without. My main concern is how to correctly aim the headlights.

Let me know what you have found out. Good luck man

Your FSM (Factory Service Manual) will tell you both how to replace the bulb, and the alginment process. I just discovered that Phatg20.net is back up and running at a new location. http://phatg20.info/portal/index.php

You now have to register, but it's a quick process. Then you can download your FSM and decompress the .rar file into a .pdf documnet. Google for the freeware that decompresses .rar files.

Good luck!
