An average Dodge Durango with 50k on the odometer is an automatic $600 repair bill in parts and labor. Ball joints, tie rods, shocks, alignment, labor costs. At 50k, the OEM goodyears(they wear like iron for some drivers, I've seen 65k on some) have either been replaced or are due for replacement. Add another $600~ for decent tires and you're at a bare minimum of $1200 parts/labor, to make the vehicle, what a discerning mech/tech would call road worthy.
Most of this I know because Dodge Durango is a popular vehicle in the South Puget Sound. The QX4 would be considered upper class, and unobtainable to most who live here, so I have no negatives to report, as I see so few.
