Hey all, I just recently bought a 1999 infiniti qx4 and really enjoy it so far. It has only 91000 miles and runs great but there are a couple problems with it. The passenger window button does not work and I was wondering if anyone knew a way to fix this. The window works completely fine when I control it with the driver side button. Its just the button on the passenger door that does not work. I am not sure if it could be the switch or something electrical going on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Also I would add that the button does work on a very RARE occasion. Just now it worked for about 2 seconds then cut out completely again. It works probably around once a week at most and only for a few seconds.

If the window.works off the driver main switch and rarely off the passenger switch then you likely just need to address the passenger switch.

Motor and wires must be okay if the main switch will work it. Sounds like corrosion/dirt/wear has fouled the contacts on your passenger switch.

Ok awesome, is there any way to clean out the connection? or do you think I would need to buy a new switch? Also I have been searching online for the part but cant seem to find it anywhere

I would take the switch out and clean it with some electrical contact cleaner first before buying new switch.
Not the same but an example...just recently my laptop power cord stopped charging my battery, i instantly thought buy a new power pack, then i remembered i had some electrical contact cleaner. Sprayed into the plug of the power pack, let it dry for a sec, plugged it in and battery is charging again. No problem since and cost me a few bucks for the can. Try to fix before replacing is my motto :werd:
