Okay so on monday 2/18/2013...I took my car in( admiral infiniti-south jersey near AC) to get an oil change( free cpo offer)...plus to fix my dome light it was out and it turned out to be the connectors needed ajustment(free cpo)...
I was also told the new 2014 q50's will be available in may and all the other rebadged cars/suvs will appear in june....

my questions
1) how many people here would trade in their m's for a q50 ?
2)whats the difference between a 2013 m37x and a 2014 q70?
3) how many current 2011+ m owners are going to rebadge their cars?

I will never buy another new Infiniti. Their dealerships are the WORST. If I get a newer model, it will be pre-owned via a third party, after the 50% drop in resale value has hit.

Love the product, hate the dealers.

The dealership I go to they are pretty nice...granted they are 103 miles from my Nyc pad and 25 miles from my New jersey pad. The 50% drop normally hits after Year 3( correct me if i"m wrong).. going by that ...My car will be 10 years old(2019) before i can buy a 2016 Q70 at 50% drop rate. I'm eager to see the Q50 in person..I have to either get that or rebaged m37x 2011+. I have been hoping that that car grows on me and it has not.

Dealerships are seriously independnent entities, I have seen them change their badges over the years in Bay Area and in Los Angeles. A good family friend of ours comes from a dealership family, he and his dad have owned Chevy, Ford, Nissan, Honda, Infiniti, Acura, Lexus, you name it. Any of those he is a great dealer........it is all about the specific dealership, they are not all idiots as a group, it just doesn't work that way.

I take all the badges off my car so it does not matter to me. I wonder if the 2014 M will have any differences it should be do for a MMC in 14. I also am debating if I will stay Infiniti the M37 has been a mixed bag, nice ride, reliable car, but build quality a little weak and electronics are not competitive and not on par with the competition for usability and features. My dealer has been fine.

I think dealerships are the product of the sales people that work there. I bought my used M from Kings Infinity in Brooklyn NY after reading missed reviews about it. They had the model and price that I wanted, I did negotiate it down more, and thankfully the salesman that I dealt with was good and treated me with respect the whole time.

I have had some bad sales people in the past and when that happens I just leave and go to another dealership. For the most part though I have had good luck. :dblthumb:

So the Q50 is the M? I thought it was the G? Or is that what you're asking (who's going to trade their "M" for the "G")?

I was asking who is going to trade in their m for a Q50?..The new q50 ( the new "g") is the sized between the Current "G" and "m".The did a overhall on all the electronics in the car :yesnod .They also took the current "M" hybrid engine and has it as an option for the q50... so your talking almost 360hp with 28 city 32 highway +. I had nice long conversation with parts department at admiral infiniti... I even googled it and they didn't lie.
The current m hybrid does 0-60 in 5.5 sec... the fastest hybrid o- 60 currently available :) ... The new q50 is lighter :chuckle: ..so it would naturally means it will do a better time...Also it has run flat tires.... .

P.s... i always wondered why the current "m" does not have a panaramic roof as a option.... my buddies at work tease me about this because they have New maximas with it....

Okay, I see.

Depending on the pricing, I may be interested in a year or two. I've been checking out the site the last hour or so and it has grown on me.

That being said...Run Flat tires are CRAP. They are extremely stupid and rough. I test drove a car with them and I will NEVER own them.

I agree run flat tires are not comfortable... I actually Car sit a 2008 Bmw 650i ( 3 months out of the year) and that car looks great, fun to drive but the run flat 19's on it are not comfortable.
on the q50 they are an option.

I saw the introduction vid on you tube when the car was revealed in Detriot. I think the new headlamp assembly blows away every other car on the road. They took a typical 'eybrow' treatment and shaped it to lool like an actual eyebrow! Great curve and slash. Thye new Q has a great front end too, I see a resemblance in it like the new Lexus models.
I am still in the fence about the newer wavy body style. I love the style of my 2007 M - it looks fierce and powerful. The new M's look a little 'girly' - not in a bad way, but it doesn't give the impression of power and handling like the older M shape. To me, the new M's and the Q look like what a successful retired couple would drive having worked hard for years and ready to enjoy some touring about the states in the lap of luxury. I still want to at least 'look' rowdy even if I may not want to drive that way all the time.
What do you lot think?

I saw one of the Q50 early production prototypes on the turntable at the Infiniti display during the Canadian International Autoshow here in Toronto in mid-February. My initial overall impression of the styling - WOW!! The exterior is sharp and they appear to have done a great job on the interior, too, from what I could see through the open doors from 10 feet away!

I still have not been able to bring myself to love the swoopy side shape of the current M37/56. When it first came out I was on the fence and thought it might grow on me, but it really hasn't. I still prefer my 2008 M45X. The new Q50 also has many of the styling cues of the current M, but somehow the lines seem much cleaner and the proportions seem better. It definitely looks bigger than the current G. In fact, with some M56 models sitting next to it, it was not obvious that the Q50 was (supposedly) somewhat smaller.

Would I trade my M for the Q50? Too early to tell, especially since I have not driven it yet. Also, I would like to see where they will be going with the Q70. In any case, these are all premature questions for me, since I intend to keep my current M for at least another year or two. By then I should be able to see how the two Q models stack up. But the Q50 looks like a good start.

I am really considering getting it after a couple of years. I never get new cars, so might have to wait. But I saw the Q50 at the Chicago auto show, and it's a beautiful car.
Still love my M35x though!
