I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that made the differences between cars clearer. So a few years ago I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age.

Thanks to the (much appreciated) help of this forum, we've been providing stats for most Nissan and Infiniti models. I'd like to do the same for the Q50 and Q60. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, following the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the Q50 and Q60, for free. I'll share results for the Q50 and Q60 in this thread after each update.

We might have some stats for the Q50 next month--we're currently a response or two short of the minimum.

If not this time, then the following round. To help make this happen, click the link in the OP.

We have an initial reliability stat for the Q50 based on owner experiences through March 31, 2014, making them nearly a year ahead of other sources.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2014 Q50: 20, low, very small sample size

Thank you, everyone who has been helping. Next update in August.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Q50 to include owner experiences through June 30, 2014.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2014 Q50: 13, low, small sample size

This stat is much different from that recently released by Consumer Reports. This could be due to our small sample size, but most likely because we only count successful non-software repairs, and many of the problems owners have been experiencing involve the software of the infotainment system.

Next updates in November and in February. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.

Saw an article on yahoo.com that the Q50 has one the worst reliability rating of luxury Japanese cars and that is pulling down infinities ratings overall. Could this be a bad omen?

We've updated our reliability stats for the Q50 to include owner experiences through September 30, 2014.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2014 Q50: 8, low

Note: many cars have required software updates, but we don't count these as repairs as long as they're free.

Sorry, I missed this earlier. The issues with the Q50 are mostly software-related. Since we don't count free software fixes as repairs, these issues don't affect our stat for the Q50. Mechanically the cars seem fine.

I need to update mine when I finally get the issue with the auto-entry system fixed. That and the popping axles or pads in front, which ever.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Q50 to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2014 Q50: 17, low

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2014 Q50: 84, < 1

Note: we don't count software issues in these stats.

No stat? Then we especially need more owners involved for that model year.
