New guy here,Can anyone tell me if there is and substitute for this fluid and/or is the dealer the only place I can get it. I have a 90 Q45a with 200k. My supension leak is somewhere by the right rear. I bought a can a week ago and it leak out. I have not look closer to find it yet. Just order another bottle of fluid, it takes 3 days to get it.

There is not a substitute... Nissan Active Suspension Fluid A is the only approved fluid for the system. And, from what I have read, it is unique...so, don't risk anything else.

Keith Bowers (TExasoil) is the resident expert on the Active system and he gave me a tip that helped. Put a few ounces of MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil) in the resorvoir. This will help recondition the seals in the system and will slow or stop some of your leaks. Mine leaked significantly less after trying this.

BTW - I am not sure where you are getting your fluid, but... Joe (everythinginfiniti.com) is typically the least expensive. However, it is a significant invonvenience to order one can at a time. I contacted my local Infiniti shop and explained the situation...told them I would be needing a can of this stuff occassionally, and that I could get it for $xx.xx from Joe. They told me they would be happy to keep a few cans in stock for me when I needed them. And, they are charging me slightly more than Joe does...but, it works out to be a little cheaper locally because I don't have to worry about shipping.

Do not substitue if at all possible. Up to 1 pint of MMO in the reservoir will gently soften the hardened seals without causing the lips to crack-like most 'seal conditioner) products will do.

Have you recharged your accumulators? With 200K and 16 years--they are long long flat.

Keith, a very nice write-up!

I fixed a few typo's and added in a proper copyright symbol for you ... hope you don't mind. Here it is ...
