So, yesterday I'm on the interstate and the Q's running good. I slow down and set the cruise and.....cruise. This little Z4 slowly passes me and I'm like hmmm.....

I zip up beside him, pause and floor it. I get a few hundred yards ahead and wait.... I do this a couple of times and he gets the hint.

I figure the Q is a top end car and I've got a chance. We're at about 65 MPH and drop the hammer - VROOOMMM !!!!! I'm thinking I'm doing pretty well when he looks over and waves at 110 MPH - at that point he drops the hammer and takes off like a bat out of h311!

Oh, well it was fun and I still love my Q.

News flash..... Your Q is not a performance coupe. Just Kidding...

For real though....You guys kill me with your attempts to "kill" cars that will outclass the Q (and for that fact many other performance coupes in its class) with ease. Don't get me wrong. You put the Q up against a regular 5 Series and you or even the same generation LS or Benz and you'll at least be competitive and probably win the race. But a Z......you're just torturing yourself. The Q gives it up in power to weight ratio and in almost ever other category.

Good story though.

Ah, but seriously ... at 65mph, the G50 will dust almost anything out there.

Um ... yeah ... except light little cars like Z4s. Heheh.

I woulda been tempted, too, Dan.

He probably had the 3.2 one which has 330 bhp. Maybe he had a 2006 or 07 with the 3.0si motor that makes 255bhm, but only weighs 50 lbs (the motor that is).

I wouldn't race anything with my car. I know I'd get beat, especially by BMWs.

Those Z4s are ugly as sin but quite muscular. I had my bike in the back seat and the top down yesterday as I was heading down to the Katy Trail. Leading the line was an SL500, followed by the Z4, followed by me barely able to keep up with them.

blah blahhhh!!

Q45: 2-ton boat, 278HP, 0-60MPH rated under 8 seconds.

Dodge SRT-4 (the neon one): 2970lbs, 230HP, 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

Right now my SRT-4 win/lose ratio is 3/4. I keep count.

The Kicker is: The ones that beat me had upgraded turbos and other mods. One guy even had to use nitrous to get away from me. He was under some serious pressure to waste it on the street.

Ill whoop on STOCK/light modded SRT-4s all day long, right from the launch. This is with my 94 Q... If I brought out the 93 all hell would break loose.

The G50 really does put a hurting on these forced induction econo-boxes from a rolling start. I've seen turbo'd Civics, SRT-4s and Cobalts all fall behind G50s before.

Not to mention the many Z28 Camaros that have been embarrassed by G50s with second gear pulls
