I'm about to install an Orion 2500D and a Memphis LVS 18in sub. I ran two 4 gauge wire today (huge pain!) The box will be about 5ft^3 sealed. I'm just looking for suggestions and things to look out for. I'm a pretty experienced installer, the fuel tank in the truck is just weird!

I went ahead and removed the rear glove box, I'm going to be making a breathable cover for it.

If you do this you HAVE TO make a box for the rear speakers. Otherwise The pressure from the sub will cause the speakers too distort.

I'd recommend getting the alternator rebuilt to a higher capacity. That amp is going to draw a TON of amperage.

A capacitor may help a little, but an alternator plus a capacitor will keep the electrical system in perfect working order.

For a HO alternator I suggest you call around to local electrical/generator repair/rebuild companies. IIRC the stock alternator is like 130amps. They should be able to take it up to between 160 and 200 amps safely. Shouldn't cost more then $200.

Question: what are you main speakerS?

If you haven't changed them I suggest making adaptors to fit 6.5 components in the doors

As of right now I'm not going to use rear speakers at all. I have an Alpine CDA 9857 headunit Dayton reference 5in mids in the stock location. I modified the mounting hole in the stock door boxes. Audax silk dome tweeters in stock location.

Do you have any info on HO G35 alternators?

Nope, but I can guarantee that a local electrical/starter place will be able to rebuild it to a higher capacity

You can ask the guys at autozone. They should be able to recommend a local place.

Here are the places I found on superpages.com near the 30228 zip code(hampton, GA)

Doug's Alternator & Radiator Repair: (770) 228-2124 1602 Old Atlanta Road, Griffin, GA 30223

Southern Auto Electric Inc: (404) 361-3283 3975 Moreland Avenue, Conley, GA 30288

Benefield's Automotive : (404) 768-1401 3460 Lang Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30354

Tony Automotives: (404) 292-0733 6746 Baynes Hill Drive, Clarkston, GA 30021

Sixty Seconds: (678) 594-7350 792 Washington Ave Ne, Marietta, GA 30060

Linh Auto Repair: (770) 751-3111 11335 Alpharetta Hwy, Suite B, Roswell, GA 30076

Give all of them a call and see what they have to offer. More then likely what you're going to find is that a few of them only work on domestics. This is normal. Don't be discouraged.
