I am putting together a folder full ECU Talk, Blazt.biz, OBD Scan Tech Nissan and other programs logs. I want logs from any of the control units you monitored so we can compare and see how everyone is doing.

The good thing about this is that you can look at the numbers and see if the CU is working normally or doing something to make up for a problem. The possibility and opportunity to learn for this is endless.

The logs don't have to be converted to a Microsoft Excel, Open Office Calc or any other spread sheet programs format. I am willing to do that for you. I am willing to help you as best as I can to tell you what those numbers mean.

If you don't know how to log in any of the programs listed above let me know and I will let you know how to recored logs.

Please don't let this be a failure like my many other recent topics. Plus we can effectively do away with the dealer for most of the problems.

Just so you know I have 17 MB of logs (Two years worth) and another member has sent a large amount as well.

If you want to donate logs credit will be given to you (If desired) and please post here so I can tell you how to submit.

Can this topic be copied over to the VH (Engine) section as well?

Hey Paul -

I've got a few ECUTalk logs from when a suspect O2 sensor and the two bad injectors were present.

I think this club could really LEAD the automobile industry if we setup some type of Continious Service Improvement Program (CSIP) for NICO members to utilize for their vehicles -- possibly based on an international standard/framework like ITIL version 3.

:-)

To make sure we are all on the same page and getting close to the same numbers make sure your settings are as follows:

When using ECU Talk (Any version):

If you don't have ECU Talk:

1.) Download ECU Talk to any folder you want.

2.) Run ECU Talk you do not have to connect to the car.

3.) You will see a new file created called (ecutalk.ini) without parenthesis.

4.) Download this file to where you saved the ECU talk program and overwrite the original (ecutalk.ini) file with this one: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/146957/ecutalk.ini

5.) Now you can run ECU talk with any sensors you want to select.

If you have ECU Talk downloaded and ran it once already:

1.) Go to the folder the ECU Talk program is located.

2.) You will see a file called (ecutalk.ini) without the parenthesis.

3.) Download and copy this file to the directory the ecutalk.ini file is located so that you overwrite the original ecutalk.ini file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/146957/ecutalk.ini

4.) Start ECU Talk and select any sensors you want and start recording!

The only things I changed in the new ecutalk.ini file:

The number of cylinders (8)

Injector size (370 cc)

Offset the timing display by 35* Before Top Dead Center (BTDC) so it reads (15* BTDC)

Also the I made it so the gauges in ECU talk somewhat match the OEM 1990-1996 (G50) gauge colors. And Imperial units are used instead of metric, You can change that your self in the ecutalk.ini file (Just set it to False).

COM port 4 is used because thats what I use, But you can easily change that.

Auto Connect is disabled.

Matt (Matt1979) sent me 60 MB of logs, Rusty Bucket sent me 18.4MB worth of logs and screen shots, Owner CS is in the process of sending me some logs. So far I have 100MB of logs!!!

I will host them on Google Docs or Drop Box, unless anyone has a better suggestion?

Thank you Lino, Matt, and Rusty :dblthumb:

I have some bad news about the Google Docs site. It seems that you have to have a Google Account to view the files which some people may not like very much. But for the people that see a blank white screen it turns out Google is hard at work trying to fix this problem and have been on it since July. I really hope they fix it soon!

In the mean time I have uploaded some of my logs, Lino's, Owner CS's, Rusty Bucket's and Matt1979's. And a friend gave me a good and fair suggestion on this, I should only share the logs with people who sent logs in. I am not doing this so people buy Laptop Consult cables. Basically if their was a public link people would come in and copy it and leave to never return, Its only fair.

But again if anyone has a better suggestion on where I can upload these logs please let me know. Only stipulations are that they can't be posted publicly and I want everyone to have read only rights, meaning the logs can't be changed once uploaded. I will let owners modify the logs in what ever way they want but I don't want to see people modifying something that isn't there own.

Any more people with ECU Talk, OBD Scan Tech Nissan or any other log recoding programs logs?

All logs sent to me have been uploaded.

Google says they know about the issue with non Google user trying to view private folders or public folders for that matter and are fixing it...Hopefully sooner than later.

I have also uploaded a spread sheet that is in the same format of a ECU talk log that shows the numbers to be expected on a perfect running G50 Q45.

Anyone else want to submit a log or two?
