Infiniti today announced pricing for its 2009 model year EX35 crossover, which officially goes on sale nationwide tomorrow and comes with a more generous list of standard equipment and new safety features. For 2009, the base RWD model, which retails for $33,800, now features standard leather-appointed seating, a reverse camera, rear HVAC vents and roof rails. The same version, but with AWD, will set you back $36,000.Opt for the $35,200 EX35 RWD Journey and you get a standard 6-disc CD player, power tilt/telescoping steering column, coat hanger on the driver’s headrest and dual-zone automatic temperature control. Topping out the range is the EX35 AWD Journey, which lists for $37,400.

New or revised packages include an Around View Monitor (AVM) Package, which utilizes four small front, side and rear-mounted cameras to give the driver a ‘top-down view’ of the outside of the vehicle and help reduce blind spots when parking. Also available is a Technology Package, with lane-departure warning systems, active cruise control, brake assist, and forward collision warning. Other packages include a Bose and Navigation system and optional 18in wheels.

All models come standard with a 297hp (222kW) 3.5L V6 engine matched to a 5-speed automatic. Sadly, Infiniti has chosen to forgo launching the 305hp (228kW) 3.7L model currently on offer in Europe.

One of the EX’s prime rivals will be the all-new 2010 Cadillac SRX, which was priced today at a slightly higher $34,155. It will be interesting to see if the latest crossover will be able to help GM reclaim market share in the midsize luxury SUV and crossover segment against vehicles like the Infiniti EX, as well as the new Lexus RX and BMW X3 and X5.

I think the picture in that article is a 2008, if the 2009 really always has roof rails as they claim. (I'm glad I got mine with no roof rails).

infinitiusa.com has the 2009 EX info now.

I checked out the Cadillac SRX, and it's pretty ugly, especially the side view; like a boxy station wagon.

I really like the roof rails, not the cross bars. The roof rails make it look sporty and adds some defintion to the top of the car.

The roof cross rails are nice if you ever buy a ladder from Home Depot, and they can be removed in about 5 minutes and stored when not in use.
