Infiniti jumps from ninth place to second, now ahead of third place Lexus. Porsche rated number one, Jeep rated worst.http://online.wsj.com/article/..._news

Is their really any difference between 98 and 113 [per hundred] NOTICED PROBLEMS in first 90 days?

How's it relevant to Q45 group? Or you can read it as if Q45 is no longer made, the rest of Infiniti line-up went up in initial quality.

Even though it doesn't apply to Q45s, by guilt by association most consumers who read it will now have a higher opinion of all Infinitis, thereby increasing their resale market value. Just like used Mercedes values were artificially increased as they lived on their past reputation for quality, used infinitis will benefit from their new found reputation. Perception is everything.

"Problems can range from wind noise to transmission failures."

Wind noise isn't what I'd consider quality, my car has wind noise when I open the Sunroof, but the mechanics themselves are rock solid.

I've never liked JD Power ratings, and still don't. While I'd normally find it hard to believe Honda is behind Mercury, I can vouch that my sister's 2007 Civic has had a decent deal of problems involving brakes, and power steering, and some other parts which is sad considering my dad's 2000 and my other sister's 1999 Civic hardly have problems (except my sister's 99 civic's compressor just got shot... guess Texan weather is too hot for it )

I think its not quality, but satisfaction when they include things not mechanic based. I'd be satisfied with any new Infiniti of course

Wind noise is a quality control issue. Mom's first Acura MDX had leaks in the windshield seal. Second one was better.
