Infiniti M45 Y Pipe crack help? Holy**** u there?

have a 03 M45. This past weekend i had my oil changed and while the car was up my boy told me to take a look at a crack (1.5 inch wide a pencil width thick) on where my y-pipe goes into the catalytic covertors. I live in PA where the state inspections are a ***** and i know i will have trouble. Any one have any insight on this dilemma. I think the pipe will cost 1200ish and another 150-200 for labor. Are there any good OEM?

Can a muffler shop just cut out a section and put in some straight pipeing?

Holysh*t , i know you posted about a similar case a while back. How did it end up playinf out for you?

Sorry to hear about the crack but I did not replace mine. I took it to a muffler shop and they said there was nothing wrong with it. It wasnt leaking so they said I should try a different inspection station. I took it to a dealership the first time but the second time I took it to a Shell gas station where they did MD state inspection and my car passed with flying colors.

I did send Joe at everythinginfiniti.com a message when I was planning on replacing it and these were the part #'s he gave me.
