Ummm...I dont really know much about these cars but I was always drawn to the styling of the 04 M45 for some reason.

I just wondered if there were any performance mods for this car. Does it share its engine with any other platform? Or is it specific to this car?

The 2004 M45 has very few (if any) performance mods available ... too low a sales volume to justify it for the after-market folks, unfortunately!

It shares the engine with the 2002+ Q45 ... the 340HP VK45DE, although I do not know if there are any ECU programming differences.

The transmission is also virtually identical, albeit perhaps with different programming again in the TCU, to the current-gen G35, Q45 and Nissan Z (I believe).

By the way, yes, I too love the styling! It is mostly based on an older Japanese design (the Nissan Gloria and, to a lesser degree, the Nissan Cedric), but has a unique and rare look that I am quite enamored with!

Hey thanks for the info!

Obviously I'm on a college budget meaning 0 dollars and 0 cents. But I will own one of these cars, mark my words.

Well its too bad more people didnt care for the car as much as it should have been cared for. They're really beautiful cars.

Oh well...what can you do.

I was in love with the style/performance/luxury as well. It’s got just enough of all the good stuff. I just got mine last month and it gets better and better everyday.

There are plenty of great M45 owners here in this section if you want to see some nice ones.

I know what you mean...I'm also in college and I really want one. I knew I wanted one from the minute I saw the first preview shots of them in '03. Then I got one for a loaner from an Infiniti dealer (I was waiting to have work done on my car and the tech went home sick with my dashboard half apart, they had no loaners left so they gave me a Y34 demo) and the performance blew me away. I love my A33 but I would love a Y34.
