Hello! I have a problem with heating/cooling in my Infiniti. So when I set the temperature to the lowest setting it cools ok, but when i raise the temperature for just 1 °C it starts the heating. I just wanted to see if anyone had this problem before i go to the dealer?? Here in Europe Infiniti dealers are insanely expensive so i wanted to check my solutions before i go there...

Thank you guys for any possible solutions!

Welcome to the forum.

I believe I had this issue when I had the knee panel under the steering wheel unplugged as there is a sensor there (in the right top corner behind a little vent). Not sure what it does, but with it unplugged my system would work how you describe. Plugged it in, and it started working fine.

It's either that or maybe your BCM is on it's way out/fritzing.

Thank you for the welcome and the answer! How do I get to that sensor? Is it easy to remove the knee panel to get to the sensor, or do I have to take everything appart?

Check out your car's factory service manual... There are sometimes some pretty good diagrams in there that can help with trim removal. www.infinitiservicemanual.com

Just the knee panel. IIRC, it just pops off but don't quote me on that. Use the manual in the link above to confirm.

Your issue may also be different, but reseating that sensor is where I'd start. I think that sensor is what detects the 'temp' in the car possibly, which is why it throws off the system if unplugged. Car has no idea if it's 60 or 90 in the car.

Thanks for the answers! Ill check that sensor, but to be honest this is my first Infiniti and probably the last. It has 58000km and I already had to change 4WAS Modul that set me back 7000 €, and now this.... Had BMWs and Toyota-s before, never had problems, but this car is killing me... Its a great car, but too many quirks.

4WAS has been an issue for numerous people. I don't have that system and honestly, other than the electrical issue I caused, I haven't had any issues with my M and I've had it since 40kmi (104kmi now). I had my 07 M35x from 32kmi to 140kmi and no major bills other than maintenance either.

Some just get unlucky unfortunately and I think that can happen in every brand...I know many people with POS for BMW's. My brothers 40kmi Honda Odyssey fan just had it's motor rebuilt under warranty because all of the pistons and such were deteriorating. And that's a Honda...which is known for reliability. At 40kmi.

Mass production = products 'falling through the cracks'

I wouldn't give up on Infiniti...I think it's the best bang for the buck from all the other luxury car makers.
