Infiniti M35 bluetooth assistance

I have a 2008 M35. I just recently purchased it. Do these things have a hand held controller? Ive read on the manual something in regards to a controller. I have not found one, where do they hide these Damn things lol. I ask because I'm having trouble syncing my contacts with my Bluetooth. I try to do it manually on the turnstyle selector knob and by voice command but neither will work. Unless I'm just not getting to the right area in the system...I do not have nav. Can anyone confirm that I need a controller, and where to get one, or how I can sync my contacts without one. Thank you.

You have to press the phone button on your dash to sync w bluetooth. First enable bluetooth on ur phone and make it discoverable. Then press the phone button and follow the instructions. It will send a code that you will need to enter on your phone to allow for a secure connection. No remote is required for this. The remote might be the one for the rear entertainment (i assume), if you have one. The car cannot be moving so that this works.

Only access to the phone I can see is on my steering wheel. I don't see one on the dash, is that only applicable to the infinitis with navigation? I see status, info, and settings to choose from. I'm pretty savvy with this kind of stuff but this I can't seem to figure out. It's always asking voice prompts but doesn't give me any option to sync contacts and it doesn't give me an option to manually do it via the dash selector knob. Any ideas, anyone had a similar issue?

Hmm... I have a 2006 Infiniti M45s w/ Nav and technology package. I thought that the Bluetooth was the same for the 2008 version of M's. Someone correct me if I am wrong. So what buttons do you have on your dash next to the large circular connector/switch?
