Wow..... Q45 wipeage all the way!!!!

I think I need to hit the freeway and see if anyone will take me on!!!!! After the new knock sensors and clean plenum, of course!!!!!

How bad did you wipe some of those, like the 740 and the Z3.... I hear the 740s acceleration as "dissapointing", and the same with the V12 750....

Has anyone ever raced a current generation (not 03 or 04) pontiac Grand Prix GTP?? My parents have one, and Id think it be pretty tough to beat of the line, but from a roll (40mph) I think the Q would wipe it, even with bad KS.....

740 kill was pretty solid, and I gave the guy another shot at it (he asked). His front bumper was approx 3 feet back of Quella's rear at 90 mph when I shut down. Second race was closer, but still half a car length at 90.

Z3 was pathetic - At least 2 car lengths and pulling away hard at 100. This was from a DEAD stop on a 2-lane freeway onramp. The driver caught up with me 3 exits down and flipped me off. :D

The most embarassing defeat of the 4 I listed? The new GMC Sierra. Had me by 2 car lengths from a dead stop and stayed there up to 90 when he shut down... :(

Embarressed my friend's bronco (aftermarket transmission, unsure on brand, newer slightly tuned V8 and giant exaust), my car glided right by him like a cloud.

Another friend decied to see how his CRX would do against my J30, moderatley built up with an SOHC Vtech......i almost felt bad for him since he put sooo much $$ and time into his nice motor and fancy body kit. Ah well.

Another time i decied to see how my J30 would do against a buddie's 240Z with a 280ZX motor swap. Wow, that car was fast, i didn't even have a chance. Off the line i thought i'd take him, but jesus, that little bugger was quick.

I killed a 350 Z and some other crap cars which I really don't even count because they had no chance to begin with and they knew it.

I got killed, make that destroyed by an Aston Martin Vanguish and a Z06.

Well, I got a little "loose" in the rear going around a corner last night!

Good thing accident investigators and insurance company employees don't know about the net nor how to read! Don't ya think?

You were racing the same basic engines against each other. His car is probably 500-600 lbs lighter than yours.

Hey,

I raced quite of few cars that wont even count. Won those races.

The only two I will state are these:

2nd generation Legend. It had a custom exhaust (dont know of any other performance mods), probably 18 inch chrome rims, tvs inside and neon lights inside (yes it was bling bling). We were at the stop light and when it turned green we both got on it. I was slowly creepin passed him up until 60 mph. After 60, I basically walked by him. I thought those Legends were fast. Hmmm...

The other one was against a '00-'02 Cavelier Z24. I wasnt even going to race but the dude tried to intimidate me. So I was like screw it. It was a rolling start from about 25 mph. We both got on it and flew by him. I thought those were also quick considering it was a Z24 (I'm assuming it some performance model).

Anyways, I want to go after this kid with an early model ES300 he always brags about. He has an inatake in it. You guys think I can hang with him? Anyone race those before?

I also noticed that the J's arent as quick off the line as opposed to from a rolling start. Is it just me or is it normal? Its like I feel like the car has more high end torque than low end torque. Maybe my mind is fooling me...

Take care.

Later...

Weight difference is crucial, but the engines in the Z were straight sixes with single camshafts.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

Theres guys in NICO that know alot more about the J than I do but I will say that my J is pretty weak of the line as well. Man I wish I had a 5 speed! But if I can catch someone willing to race ( rolling start I hope for selfish resones ) I would idealy like to start off in 2nd gear at about 3000 rpm, its all go from there. Also wanted to note that a piece of crap sentra kind of beat me up last night on the I5 on ramp. I don't know how fast I was going but my car was in 2nd gear about 2500 rpm , then I noticed this kidd wanted to race. So i floored it ....it shifted into 1st and it redlined he was already half a car legth ahead of me i tryed to catch up but it was no use. It was like a 93- 96 base model with exhaust and 5 speed . I just don't under stand. maybe mine needs some work or something, i don't know, it runs fine . and deffinetly has no prob hitn' 110 mph once already going 70 mph. The J just seems so damm heavy

The J is heavy at 3800+ lbs and peak power comes after 3000 rpm so your mind is not playing tricks. The 300zx weighs 3300. That is a quarter ton difference and with power not beginning to really kick until higher RPM, the J is not blindingly fast off the line to say the least.

I'm ashamed to admit it but I've had trouble with The Ford Focus sport version off the line when I've been loaded down with junk in the trunk and a passenger. At speed though, forget about it. That is when the J is truly alive.

I thought the 280Z would've been running an early VG30.

Or it could've been the L26 turbo like Sop's car? Either way, NEVER, EVER race an early 240z. 99% of them have a swap of some sort.

No pain really. I understand what the J30t is and exploit it's strengths on a daily basis. Everyday I love getting into my J. A superbly able and luxurious machine.

And multiply that by 2 and you got a Q......

And im a poet and didnt know it....... :D

Sorry....... Had to say it....... :D

I think the Q will hold its own against basically any car on the road...... Wipe most of them, and be close to others.... I dont think a Q would just get blown away, unless you were racing a ferrari or something......

oh yea, one more biggie, he had a turbo-charger....i think that made quite a difference too. I have to admit i loved the car, runs like a top and handles like a dream for being a late 70's model.
