Ever wonder why the Infiniti J30/J30t was ever made? Why did they put the 300zx engine under the hood of a uptown family sedan? Why did they try Super HICAS when they tried it in the Skyline GTR's? What would make them think the 300zx engine (vg30d)was enough power for this overweight lead block? Since it was almost twice as heavy as the Z why the heck not put the TWIN TURBOS in it or at least give an option for God's sake? Why cant you buy aero kits (body kit), performance parts, or major bolt-on upgrades? Ok you all get what i mean im sure. NOW FOR THE GOOD [censored]!I have been reading these forums unregistered for over a year now, and yes this isnt the only one! I have read every word in every forum in the US and Japan about the J30/J.Ferrie. Nissan/Infiniti never expected to sale very many J30's in the US or Japan hell they never expected to turn a profit on its J30 or J.Ferrie. The car was simply a lab rat for multiple theory concepts, and also there investment while they had money to burn (1992-93). The J30 is heavier for a soon released reason, the turbos were not an option because the stock 300Zx's turbos were not big enough, the Super HICAS is mearly an automatic all wheel steering system that amazingly gives the the pros of front and rear wheel drive with NONE of the cons. For the racers who like to drift not a problem the HICAS can be disabled, and i bet you never here of 300zxTT drivers compairing there computer to that of the J30 which is twice as powerful and more upgradable than and ECU in the world!A vehicals computer is growing more and more each year to control each and every piece and option imaginable. Its 16bit CPU as compaired to the 300z's 8 bit cant be compaired and the software options are endless! The original J30t and J30's will soon be so valuable that you may not even wish to equip it with all the new modifications soon to hit the US market! NO JOKE!! Oh yeah those VeilSide Aero Dynamic body kits that look so sweet on the Toyota Supra, 350zx, 240sx, and RX7's are going to end up just as they are now FOR LOOKS with minor aero technology logistics. With Nissan and Veilside's highly hush hush project you just may see the J30 make a turn for the best in perofrmance and looks. I have already said too much and my excitment has lead to this horribly constructed post and i appologize to those who take the time to be gramatically correct. I leave this post with one last statment.........Dont be surprised when you start hearing rumors of 2 J30's (J30t and one J30)pushing 700-1100 HP Stable and Street Legal!!!! (oh by the way 10 and 11 second 1/4 mile cars wont even gas up for this race)!

Throw in a customed well-tuned bored out VG30/??DETT with fancy internals ... feasible?

Heck, they have the chevy 4-cyl ECO-TEK (spelling?) up to 1200HP+

It all comes down to time and money.

That's great that you're excited about the J, however your post is both confusing and cryptic - care to enlighten us?

Why the sudden interest in a car discontnued 6 years ago?

Why would Nissan take up a project on a car discontinued 6 years ago, that was only produced for 5 years and in relatively limited numbers?

What is the big secret of the Js weight that you alluded to?

Explain why these imminent upgrades are so "hush hush"

And why did Nissan choose the VH41DE for the JDM upgarde?

The J is a sweet car and such is its appeal that its owners become enamoured of it to varying degrees, some extremely so.:D The J30/J30t is a pearl.

I had to opportunity to check out a twin turbo Z a couple of days ago. The first thing one notices is that the battery is located back against the firewall on the right side. The next thing is that there is the famous VG30DE block surrounded by all sorts of turbo stuff. The engine bay is full to the brim.

Welcome to the club cnickk.

The J30 is pretty much maxed out OEM. 210 hp with a matching transmission. Turbo conversion very difficult. NO ROOM.

Got gas for the 'burban?:D
