Hi all, new here, hoping that I can get some help with a coupe issues I've been having with my 2002 Infiniti I35.

The check engine light turned on about a week ago and I just got the chance to get the codes checked out at an autozone nearby. The codes are as follow:
P0011 - Intake Valve Timing (IVT) control circuit failure - bank 1
P1614 - Anti-theft system (NATS) failure

Also in the last week I've noticed a couple weird things happening.
First, When I get in the car and try to turn the engine on, it often won't turn over. It will crank, and it's not a slow crank suggesting the battery as dead. It's fast but won't turn over. However, I do have a remote starter and starting it from that works completely fine.

Second, the radio keeps dyeing on me. It will show that it's on but won't play any sound. When I try to put a tape in, it will show a "Tape err" message. It will, however, usually turn on suddenly after a couple minuets.

Third, gas mileage seems to be a little off imo. I'm only averaging 11mpg between light city/highway driving. I don't have anything to compare this to though, since I just bought the car a couple weeks ago.

Fourth, not sure if this is my imagination or not, but it seems to be delaying or hesitating when going into third gear. This is my first automatic car so again I don't have much to compare this to.

Just seeing if anyone has any suggestions or ideas of what I might start to look in to? I had a Jeep Cherokee before this which I replaced almost everything on the car myself, so I consider myself a capable DIY guy. So I'm hoping that's it's something that I can fix without paying an arm and a leg at an auto repair shop.

P0011 - Quickly checked. Pull the IVT solenoid out and apply voltage to it and make sure it's moving like it should. If not it's not advancing the Timing on bank 1 like it should thus retarded timing = worse fuel mileage. The nats error is typical of the I35/Maxima from 00-03. Seen quite often actually and is likely why it'll crank and not start. Now your remote start could interfere with this. If you have access to a good diag tool you can reprogram your keys, occasionally these car just lose key programs. Also you may have a nats antenna going bad, if replaced your keys will need to be programed as well. But again your remote start may be causing this error, it bypasses the NATs "Nissan Antitheft System" and can freak it out.

Where is the IVT solenoid located?

looking from the front of the vehicle where the timing cover meets the head on the passenger side you'll see a connector. That's the IVT solenoid. I believe the connector is a blue color that year.
