Infiniti I35 Hollow Knocking sound when riding over bumps.....PLZ HLP!!!!

I have a 2003 I35 with 138k on it . When i drive over serious bumps i hear a hollow knocking sound coming from the right front of the car . At first i thot it was the stabilizer links which i replaced and still the sound persisted ...Today i changed the struts and still the sound is there. I seems like its making the sound when the suspension returns from contouring the bump . The feeling is similar to smth hiting the the bottom of the car. Im afraid ill have to change the upper and lower control arms too. Has anyone had similar issues? Thanks for everyones time...

I had a similar sound with my Maxima but the bolt on the top of the strut was loose letting the strut shift up and down and bang against the top of my fender slightly.

But since you changed your struts and that didn't solve it I'm not sure what to tell you. I guess just make sure those are tight...other wise I'm out of ideas.

Good luck though... When you get a chance you should post up pics of the I30. We always could go for pics of new (and old) members rides!!

Are you on stock springs?

My suspension "jingles" when I go over bumpy road, I think it's the springs being too short for the struts.

I know that sounds dumb, but I can hold the spring and strut together with my hand and kick the tire and the noise goes away.

double check the inner/outer tie rod ends, bearings, and spindles. see what you find there.
