infiniti i30 no sound

Just recently purchased a 1999 Infiniti I30. The radio/cd changer will turn on and change station but no sound comes out? Where do I start?? Any ideas? Thanks

Is it the factory radio or an aftermarket unit?

Ok I have replaced fuse #62 and still no sound.the power antenna goes up,power comes on,you can change stations and from radio to Cd. Just no sound. Is there anything else I can check?

I have a similar issue with my 240sx. My rear speakers just stopped working one day. I figured out that the amplifer is falling. You might see if it has a fuse.

No fuse in #22. Put one in and radio comes on for about 2-3 seconds then blows. This supplies power to the audio components via audio amp relay. Amp bad?? Where is amp located?? Thanks.

It does sound like a bad amplifer. Mine is located in the trunk, under the rear speakers, but yours might be in a different place.
