I have a 1999 Infiniti I30 and I was going to warm it up this morning so I could go to work and after running for about two or three min, it stalled out. I tried to restart it and the engine will turn over but it will stall out after a few seconds. Also, when I turn the key to start the engine, it will start for a few seconds before stalling out, but if I press the gas peddle at all, it will die as soon as I press on the gas. It has gas in the tank and nothing new has been done to in in the past few weeks... anyone have any clue what I should do next in trying to diagnose this problem?

Sounds like it's a fuel flow issue. How many miles are on it? If it's a lot and the fuel filter hasn't been changed, I would start there since it's somewhat cheap and easy to do.

About 180,000 miles and I tried replacing the fuel filter with no luck. I added about five gallons of gas to the tank and did a basic tune up, again with no luck or change...

When you say basic tune up, what did you do?

Changed the spark plugs, changed the oil, changed the air filter and fuel filter.

You may have a failing fuel pump or faulty fuse/wiring. Set Ignition Switch to ON (do not start). You should be able to hwar the pump humming for about 5 seconds then shut down (pump is located in the tank and is accessible from the rear seat. You can also check the fuel pressure- 34 PSi with engine running, 43 psi with engine off (Ignition ON). You need to connect a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and the fuel rail
