Infiniti I-35 P0021 P1800 Smell of Oil in cabin

My car throws these codes when the CEL comes on.
I also smell oil in the cabin area, and when I exit the vehicle, but don't see or notice a leak.
I changed my oil to Royal Purple from Castrol Edge about 300 miles ago but didn't notice much of a difference.
Could 0021 and 1800 cause the oil smell?
Also its time for SMOG and I am required for Star certification this year. I have always used premium fuel, but is it true that switching to Regular would help me pass? Or would switching to regular hurt my engine all together?
