Was wondering what everybody thought on the IS 250 AWD vs. the Acura TL and Infiniti G35 sedan. What are the positives of the G35 over the others and what are some of the negatives?

Also, does anybody have any links or at least car magazine names and month when the G35 was reviewed and/or was compared to these other vehicles?

Any opinions or thoughts on why I should buy the G35 over other cars is needed because I am unsure on which car to get. Thanks in advance.

well youve got three completely different drivetrains here. FWD (Acura), RWD (G35 unless you get the X) and AWD (IS250) it depends on what your looking for and what you need. the 250 is the smallest car but will beckon just as much fun as the G35, of the three it has the best new styling IMO. the G35 will be the priciest, but worth it as it has the best resale. the Acura is the best deal for the money, besides the FWD part but lots of extras!

they are all good cars for what they are worth, it just comes down to what you want.

YHey Frank...Welcome to NICO!

You are going to get biased opinions here of course. But most people on here (before they bought their G's) we're looking at similiar cars.

The G's definitley turn heads over the Lexuses and Acuras. i think it's the best looking out of the 3.

I have no complaints about my G other then the cupholders and seatbelts. Oh...and I'm not huge on the dash lighting.

the G is a blast to drive. Power+ Luxury = kik a$$

It depends what you want in a car! What are your expectations?

What G we're you looking at?

Try this for starters http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars....html

hope that helps...let us know what you decide!

Thanks for everyone's opinions. I was planning to buy the G35X with AWD so the 35 and 250 will have AWD since I live in NY and snow and bad weather is the norm. Any other opinions on the cars would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The IS comes in both RWD and AWD in both trim levels, so a G35 comparison is certainly valid.

If price were no object, personally I'd choose the Lexus over the G35 any day. The fit and finish and general feel of the interior is worlds better than anything Infiniti offers. Keep in mind however that even the sport optioned IS won't match a G35 for spririted driving, the IS does however easily win in the luxury department.

If however price is an object an object, as it is for most of us, the G35 starts to look pretty good. Especially if your in the market for a more sport oriented offering.

Personally, though I'd also take a good look at a Audi A4 2.0T, it sits at approximately the same $35,000 price, but includes 100% of maintenance during the warranty period. It has a very nice interior, and equipped with sport or S-line packages it will match a G35 on the track any day.

The new S4 would surpass any model G35 in this model year. however it surpasses it in price too. alot. 50k? if im not mistaken.

being that you do live in new york and get a little more snow than i do (southeastern pa) i would eliminate the TL as an option. i almost bought one myself and kind of wish i did but if its the security of AWD the TL doesnt offer it.

i agree here. i would pick the IS over the G, this is just my opinion, because it has cleaner execution than both generation G35s (excluding the coupe) however i think the IS350 and the G35 are equal game players. the G is a very fun car but so is the 350 lexus.

that being said, i think you should narrow it down and go test drive those vehicles and make an experience based decision.

The S4 is way ahead of this class. You'd be a lot better off comparing a 2.0T Quattro for less money, or a 3.2L Quattro for a tad more.

Careful, if you drive the Lexus you'll want one. Epesically if it has the DVD navigation system. Its fantastic. Unfortunately if your looking at an IS350 w/ AWD your're already into the $45,000-$50,000 range. A loaded IS250 AWD will touch the $40,000 mark.

I test drove almost every car in the class when my fiance and I were looking at cars. Needless to say we decided on the G, mostly for price reasons, that and the coupe is just so darn cool looking.
