I was thinking to buy an Infinity G35 2003 Sedan with a clean title and 116k miles for $6500 cash. I was wondering if this is a good deal or not? I am going to check the car this weekend. Is there any thing specific that I need to be concerned about or something that I need to ask to the seller? Since, its my first Infinity, how much mpg do you get and how expensive is it to maintain it? Say like, filters, belts and stuff? Also, how is the resale value of the car?
KBB shows 8.5k for this car so if I drive it for a year with 9k miles, then can I still get a good resale value?
My friends were just scaring me saying that it consumes a lot of gas and its maintenance is very expensive

Please let me know.

Thank You

Stay away from this car unless you're willing to shell out a few grand just to make it run trouble free and to fix all the "common problems" the car is plagued with; or if you're an experienced mechanic and can do all the work yourself. If you want a G you're better off getting an '08+ with some warranty and low mileage on the car. I can bet you 99% that if you buy this G35 you will be on this forum the same week asking about how to resolve a crap load of issues that surfaced after you bought the car. ;) That's correct Infiniti maintenance isn't "cheap" and the car isn't very fuel efficient and is a premium fuel vehicle. If you're a young fellow with limited funds, I would suggest something else.

I'm not a fan of high mileage cars...be careful. While some will be fine, it depends on the previous owner.

116k on a well maintained VQ35 is far from high mileage, IMO. Of course, without proof of maintenance you could be getting a pig.

yeah the milage is not the concern... its the previous maintence and potential maintence. If you could verifiy its maintence history then you might have a deal... but if you save up a little more you will be able to get a newer model and peace of mind. Peace of mind is worth alot to me.

With that said i saw alot of 2003, 2003.5/2004 G35 on my last road trip... so that tells me they are lasting. even saw an old g35 with the doggy door on the highway :)
