Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have just received the April issue of the Infiniti Newsletter. The newsletter contains a link to future vehicle design and concepts. Obviously Infiniti is moving forward. The link is as follows: http://www.infiniti.com/global/en/home# ... letter.OWN .

Thanks for that. Some really nice looking designs. The Essence looks a bit like an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, which is not a bad thing to look like. Infiniti used to make the nicest cars that no one noticed. They sure have changed that recently.

The Ethera I like and would buy, except for the “Eye lid headlights - nothing short of bizarre IMO. Nissan has seemed to have entrusted styling within their Infinity line to a rather extreme element. I doubt Lexus or BMW or Mercedes will want to compete in such a far wing of design except perhaps with a single model. I am guessing Infinity is trying to establish their own market. I am assuming the four models shown in the link will replace the M, G, FX and EX. Kind of sad for me, I believe the EX is the best looking auto on the road today. It will be history soon.

One thing to remember is that concept cars are usually toned waaaaaay down before, if ever, reaching production. So we are more likely to see a progression of what is out there now rather than radical changes. I am glad to see Infiniti making more of their own models rather than dressing out a Nissan.
I had a QX4, which was a dressed up Pathfinder. I am glad that the EX35 stands on its own.
