infiniti ex35 - DVD or cd??

I thought EX35 w/nav should be able to play DVD in the existing system but I got disk error when inserted the disk.If we can not play DVD then how can we update Navigation system if needed.Thanks in advance

I got 2009 EX35 with journey package and Nav. I can not get dvd playing at all. They keep asking insert CD instead DVD.I scatching my head on this one....must be a switch somewhere....or maybe I have to reset audio system to default

You have to take your car to the dealer for Nav updates. You can see the process here:

I have played a DVD movie in mine. Have you tried more than one DVD, perhaps the problem is with the disk.

just want to clarify, you can play DVD movies, DVD audio and DVD mp3?what year is your model because my 08 can't do it

The new upgraded navigation system in the 2010's has a dvd drive. The older nav system with the compact flash slot had only a cd drive. On the 2010's you can play movies provided the parking brake interlock is in place.

Man I am starting to wish I waited a month and paid the extra $1000 for a 2010 Is the Navi really that much better? Guess playing a DVD is no big deal since I cant watch while driving...but still cool.

damm. I should bought 2010 but I did bought my 2009 infiniti EX35/ nav only $40000 Canadian (only 3500km) compare to $52000 brand new. I guess I can buy a dvd player and plug in RCA cable. Thanks for all the respond...
