I've seen where many members on here have gotten the Infiniti Elite Extended Warranty. I was told to just get a cost from my local Infiniti Dealer.

Is the cost for the extended warranty negotiable?

Should I call multiple dealerships or should the cost be the same across the board?

You probably have more negotiatnig power when you are buying the car. I purchased my M45 from Infiniti Gold Coast in Chicago and I got them to knock $200 off the price of the waranty to match the price I wanted to pay for the car. I got the 2 year 24K mile Elite.

I bought my '04 M45 from Infiniti Gold Coast, too (in Chicago). and I will NOT be buying my warranty from them. They overpriced it by an extra $1000 (I shopped around at other dealerships in other states) and Gold Coast lied about LoJack being installed on my car, as well. I am not fond of them at all...

The best prices I got so far are from the folks at EverythingNissan/InfinitiPartsUSA.com (the link below in this page) and Infiniti of Ardmore in PA. their numbers were right on-point for the Elite warranty.

good luck.

I bought my M second hand. When my factory warranty is up can I then buy an Infiniti Elite Warranty or does it have to be purchased when the machine is purchased?

You just need to purchase it before the original factory warranty is up. It's tiered via the current mileage on the vehicle (i.e. a 60 month / 60k mile warranty is more expensive for a vehicle with higher mileage).

For what it's worth... I purchased a 60/60 extended warranty last September for my '03 M with 29k miles for $2,300.

I'll check around with different dealers to see who gives me the best cost. My 04 M45 has 53k miles on it and my original 4 years is up in August. I'm just trying to justify the cost vs. the risk of not getting the extended warranty. I'll post the numbers I get from a couple of different dealers.

Thanks

Infiniti Elite WarrantyHere is what I was quoted for my '04 w/ 43K miles:

$2,171 for 48 months/ 48,000 miles with a $100 deductible

or

$2,677 for 48 months/ 48,000 miles with a $0.00 deductible.

this (like all others) covers your car up to 100,000 miles & four years.

After that clench your butt-cheeks and pray for no serious failures! LOL

Called my dealer on 03' 56k

Told me that 3yr 36k was the most they could do. Here are the prices...

$0 deductable - $3,137

$50 deductable - $2,895

$100 deductable - $2,701

I did ask if this was a concrete price and she said it was just the retail standard price and there was room to deal. She also offered me a warranty that would work with just my two local dealers and that one was about $500 cheaper and covered it for up to 40k.

I will be contacting a couple other places to get quotes, will post them up!

Wow -- my local dealer is high...

here is what I was quoted -

I can add this anytime before my original warranty ends (either miles or date)

All below are $0 deductable.

1 year 12k miles - $1,614

2 years 24k miles - $2,198

3 years 36k miles - $2,912

Seems high from what I have heard from others.

xxNite - What dealership did you get your warranty from?

Just got a call back from Infiniti dealership in GA. They offered me 3 year 36k with $0 deductable for $2,412. That is $500 cheaper than the quote I got from my local dealer. I don't want to beat a dead horse but this seems to be something that should be shopped around since there are such differences in the quotes were getting.

Ardmore Infiniti in Ardmore Pennsylvania

and...

Infiniti of Scottsdale Arizona (zip 85257) have the exact same pricing for warranties without all of the price-gouging.

I would recommend either. I actually really like the Arizona folks, because they help sponsor our message board. you'll see their banner throughout the site as:EverythingNissan.com / InfinitiPartsUSA.com

Joe Tsensky at Scottsdale Infiniti (the home of the above sites) has been a NICO supporter for a long, long time and always looks after us well.

Please use them as often as you can, and let him know you are a NICO member (does not get you discounts, but Joe can sometimes do nice things for us, like ship the stuff via Air at Ground prices, etc., and resolve problems quickly - yes, they do occur on occasion, but they are particularly nice about fixing them promptly).

Hello,Given the cost of major repair, it would seem smart to hedge your bet. This is especially true if planning to keep it for the long haul. If your car is equipped with the technology package ( Nav, Intelligent Cruise Control, etc...), make sure it is covered as the regular Infiniti non Elite warranty does not cover Nav or the Blose system. If would imagine that most aftermarket have exclusion. Moreover, if your car is not equipped with the technology package, the Elite Warranty is probably not worth the expense over the regular warranty.Cheers,ML

STAY with the Infiniti ELite warranty. Stay FAR awar from anything 3rd party. I believe the Nissan waranty will not cover some of the high-tech (read -expensive to fix) items that are unique to the Infiniti Brand.

I am pricing warranties right now and I have a neighbor that is the Fleet manager at Power Nissan in Tempe. He's been in the car biz for over 25 years and told me all of the horror stories of non-OEM warranties.

Infiniti of Scottsdale quoted the following prices this month on my 03 M45 that currrently has 34K on it: Infiniti Elite Extended Protection Plan. He brought the "factory" price book in and showed me the pricing.

$0 deductible: 24 mo 24K @ $1479 36 mo/36K @ $1912$100 deductible: 24 mo 24K @ $1431 36 mo/36K @ $1747

I called Infiniti of Superstition Springs and they offered to discount these by "about $200 each". I believe this is as good as you are going to find anywhere. ANY Infiniti dealer can sell you the Infiniti Warranty, BTW. If nothing else, take this email in to your dealer and ask them to Price Match.

Do NOT pay more -- just pay someone else!

I just read on the Infiniti website that the warranty is up to 7 years or 100k miles from the ORIGINAL manufacturing date. That means folks who have 2004 cars manufacturerd in Dec 2003 will only receive a about a 2 years of coverage....Something to think about. Especially when it can cost upwards of $3k.

A properly motivated [XXXXX* say 20%] Master Infiniti Technican [who has been your friend for awhile] can always find or create defects that are covered - sufficient to pay back your warranty cost.

They know which systems have failed early or are on ragged edge just before 7 years.

Obviously there are differences between bribes and gifts. You give gifts to friends.

As the original buyer of my '03 M45, I knew to wait until just before 30,000 miles and just days before the standard warranty expired to buy the Elite extended warranty. My standard warranty was up in Sept. '07 and at 29,800 miles, so I bought the Infiniti Elite $100 deductible 60 month, 60,000 miles extension Elite which takes me to 2012 and 89,800 miles, which ever comes first. The clue to this was to buy before 30,000 miles and just short of the anniversary date of your car. The sales contract that was issued by my dealer and then sent offically by Infiniti, states in writing the 60month/89,800 miles to 2012 in the contract. Since I'm not a high mileage driver on the M45( my other autos get the mileage), I don't expect to exceed the time/mileage period. My cost negotiated at the time in Sept. '07 was $1359. You need to make friendly alliances during the years before your standard warranty expires with the sales manager, the service adviser(pick one and stick with him), and get to know the finance officer too. He's the one you negotiate with. I'm the type that normally would not buy an extended warranty, but due to the complex electronics on the M, I felt this was the prudent thing to due. Thinking that you might need to take out a bank loan to just replace the monitor that controls evrything from the radio to the A/C plus much more, was enough to convince me.

Thank you all for this discussion! Just bought an 06 M35 from an Inifinti dealer and they tried to sell me a non-Infiniti service contract (aka Warranty) which I quickly said no as I was almost bankrupted by a service contract not fulfilling their duties.

Glad to know you can get a true factory warranty extension. I will wait until almost 40K or April, whichever comes first and find me a dealer selling the real warranty extension.

Thanks!

These are the prices for the Infiniti Elite Warranty based off the model and mileage (M45 w/ 56K)...

$0 Ded36mo/36k miles=$2479

$50 Ded36mo/36k miles=$2229

$100 Ded36mo/36k miles=$2028

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the coverage!! The Elite is the most extensive coverage available for any Infiniti and its backed by Infiniti...I would be careful and not recommend 3rd party warranties. Thanks

M45 w/ 50k-60k

Elite Warranty

$0 deductible12mo/12k =$113624mo/24k =$174036mo/36k =$2479

$100 deductible12mo/12k =$104324mo/24k =$149136mo/36k =$2028

Prices just changed April 1st 2009, so these are all the new prices. Price & available terms change if you are less then 50k or greater then 60k. Please contact me if you have any questions! Just to clear a few things up...The Elite Warranty starts the day you purchase the warranty...it does NOT back date to original in-service date...unless you are purchasing a CPO-WRAP...then it gives you 84mo/100k from original in-service date.

The deductible is per visit, not per item…so if you come in and they fix a few things, you only pay $100 or $50, if you ever have a reoccurring problem with any item repaired, you do not pay the deductible again.

It is not a problem if you are out of state…as long as you are still under the original warranty you do not have to have an inspection to qualify for the warranty.

The process of purchasing an Elite warranty from me is...email or call me, I give you all the price & terms available...I can email or FedEx the Elite Warranty Brochure to you...you email me the vin#, mileage, address, phone#, what plan and deductible you would like to go with and how you would like to pay (credit/debit card or pymt plan). I type up all your docs, email them to you for review, process your pymt and then FedEx all your copies & a warranty book to you. Then in about 4-6 weeks you will receive a customized card from Infiniti with your policy # and vin # (but any Infiniti dealer can pull up your coverage in the computer just using your vin# and the warranty will be in effect the day you purchase it).

The warranty starts the day you purchase it and the mileage allowance is added to what’s already on your odometer. The Elite warranty covers over 1650 components (including all the upgraded technology), roadside assistance, towing (basically everything except routine maintenance), it is transferable or cancelable if you trade or sell the vehicle prior to the policy expiring and we do not charge sale tax. I think that about covers everything. If you have any questions shoot me an email or call me @ 480-941-0055. Thanks and have a good day. I look forward to hearing from you.

So the Elite Warranty kicks in the day you buy it and the mileage / term is added to whatever is currently on your vehicle... Question... does it change your original factory 48/60 zero deductable to whatever deductable you selected when you purchased the Elite warranty???

Let me ask a very simple question. Does the extended warranty add a given number of years/miles to both the general warranty and the drive train warranty? For example, would a two year extended warranty on an '06 give you six years(original four, plus two extended) of general warranty and eight years drive train(6 original, plus two extended)?

Since the legal life of a vehicle is 10 years and 100k except for safety recalls, all Nissan warranty cap out. You can take the 4 year/60k standard to 7 years 100k. The drive [power] train 6/70k goes to 7/100k.

The best you can do is add 4 years and 40k to the standard warranty.

This 7yr /100K for power train on the three year program(based on Q45tech's statement) seems to me to rather weak if you are a low mileage driver. I would think that the power train is a bit more important than general warranty. Is it possible to obtain the warranty after your policy lapses? In that scenario might it be effective to obtain the insurance after a time lapse so as to cause the power insurance to continue until the 10 year mark.

Here is a bit of useful information from Courtney. She just informed me that you can obtain the Elite warranty after the initial warranty lapses, prior to the 9th year of the vehicle. She mentioned that if you do this then an inspection is required for preexisting warranty problems. The inspection costs $100-$120.

First of all Courtney is top notch in my book. She was extremely helpful with information about my recent purchase of an elite warranty on an 06 M45. I was being quoted $1645 for a certified car then another $800-1000 for the elite program. I was able to confidently say that I knew the price was about $1,900 for both after talking with Courtney. I got the car at a great price and the certified and elite at $1,800. I'm covered till Aug of 2012 or 100,000 miles. The car has 52,000. Having a blast with the car so far and sleeping well knowing it's covered for most things for the next 3+ years. Courtney can be trusted and is fair.!
