My M is at the Dealer getting some warrant work done.

It has been almost 6 weeks with little communication from the dealership.

I am in a loaner so I am not without a car but I want my M back...

They tell me the question is in the Door Arm Rest that is torn. Infiniti Elite Care program says it is Trim and not covered... But the dealership is trying to find a way to get this covered.

Today I called Infiniti customer service to inquire about my warranty and covered parts. They have no record of any claims filed Approved/denied on my VIN number.

Question 1) is the Door panel arm rest considered Trim?

Question 2) if The warranty does not have any claims on my VIN does that mean My car has been sitting for no reason for 6 weeks?

I left 2 voicemail's this morning with the dealer, still no call backs.

If I remember correctly, Ilya had a similar issue and the warranty denied coverage. I am surprised at the lack of service at your dealer. Perhaps a call to Infiniti corporate will get the dealer moving.

if they deny, my drivers door arm rest has a tear, is this a simple part, or does the entire door panel need to be replaced?

My arm rest didn't have a tear, but the 'plastic' or whatever underneath the leather caved in from my supporting my body weight with my elbow while trying to get my wallet out of my pocket. They told me it wasn't not covered.

As for not getting a call back, I'd drive over there. Or, get a case number from Corporate and provide that to the receptionist. You'll get a call back within minutes if not transferred on the spot. Did the same when my dealer was giving me the run around for a suspension issue on my Y50...got a call from the GM 30 minutes after the creation of a case number with Corporate and the issue was resolved completely (parts replaced) within like 2 days.

I just got the call an apology... They are having a trim guy repair my tear, and should have my car to me by Friday or Monday.

They are still trying to get the door panel covered, but they are repairing it on their dime. I believe they are doing it since they had my car so long

i have little material rubbing off on the steering wheel volume area its not much but over time it's going to get worse, I bought the car knowing it was there but dam Had no issue like this in my O7 M. Need to find a hey to prevent that. You would think a 50K car new wouldn't have these issues.

it is trim, and it is specifically excluded from the elite coverage. However, if you have a good relationship with the service people they will work to find a way to get it covered for you. Often it is a split type arrangement when they eat a portion of the cost and ask for some $$ for the rest. I hope you end up paying noting beyond your deductible - let us know.

I believe Ilya's example is for an original warranty claim which is a whole different story (Ilya correct me if I'm wrong), as dealer has more say about what's does/does not get approved. The elite is a totally different animal being an exclusion type service contract (not a warranty).

I also agree that owner's services are very helpful (very few times I have contacted them). I do have a decent relationship with my service department though.

I'm under Elite at this point...I didn't get the car certified (as it was cheaper for me to get Elite and have longer coverage if I recall then get it certified).

I have a relationship with mine too, but even she told me it's unfortunate but they can't warranty it.

There's ways around everything. I have a buddies QX56 in the shop now getting a bunch of stuff replaced that normally wouldn't be covered. You just have to get creative with your wording, lol.
