I am the new owner of an 06 M35 Sport, and I have an idea for how I can connect my iPhone (iPod) to the car which involves making my own harness that splices into the existing connector for the aux-input in the armrest/back seat.

From the service manual I have identified the connector numbers as M149 to M321 (W/8), but I have no idea what type of connector this is.

Can anyone here help me identify it and/or tell me where I can purchase one?

Thanks,B

You should be able to get them from the dealer. In the fsm there is a part that shows what all of the connectors look like as well to get you and idea.

Thanks. I guess what I should have asked is there anywhere online that the connectors are available.

I stopped by the dealer today and the parts guy came out to the car to look at the connector in question and told me that it would only be available as part of the entire harness. Could this be, or is there somewhere else to locate these connectors?

That's possible. You could splice in some molex connectors for a lot cheaper if you wanted to do that. You won't be able to find the stock connectors at digikey or anything like that unfortunately.

Well this really shoots my plan to h@ll!

The reason that I wanted the connectors was so that I didn't have to cut into the factory harness. I may just have to revise my plan.

Thanks.
