I recently purchased one of those nissan/infiniti cd changers off of ebay. The add says 1995-2001 nissan and infiniti veichles, but I recently realized (after it already arrived at my house but before I had it installed) that the changer is designed for 1996-2001 infinitis and 1995-2001 nissans. I was mad as hell, but I was hoping my 1995 j30, might just have barely made the cut off because (as far as I know) the j30 was only made for 5 years and the audio/mechanical aspects are more similar form year to year than other cars in infiniti's line-up. Basically, I need to know if there is any chance of this thing working in my car or am I going to have to put it back up on ebay? Also, I still very much want a factory type cd player (that I can control from the stock deck) in my ride, so where would then go to get one if all the ones I have seen are for 1996-2001 whips. Thanks.

I checked into this and you will have a hard time with system integration with that cd changer and your 95 J30. You could get a factory deck from one of these cars... but your wiring is going to be different as the design of the plugs/interface changed in 95 for Nissan, and 96 for Infiniti. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Take it from an old stereo guy. If it's not plug and play, it's not gonna work :(.

I bought a 90-93 Q45 Sony 10 CD changer to "try" and put in my 94. Can't make it happen, the connections on the Sony 10 disc are different and after lots of searching and "trying" just have given up.

That is sooo odd. Because no one responded immediately I decided to just take a chance and take it my local sound and secuity spot to get it installed. They charged me 70 bucks, but within an hour it was fully installed with no problems. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the J30 did not include a flat surfaced to bold it to, so it had to be bolted to the floor of the trunk to the right (vertically) where it could pose a hazard if I am carry luggage or something big. Other than that it was fine. I told the guy on Ebay that it worked in a '95 and he said that he had no clue why it worked because from his experiance it was still only 95 and up.
