Infiniti Announced the 2010 EX35 September 23, 2009

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

This is just one of the web sites with the 2010 press release.

It is really interesting that Infiniti released the 2010 model within 4 months of releasing the 2009. The changes are similar to the 2009 changes, adjusting the option packages, Not much new. They don't say a thing about adding back seat room, they kept the VQ35HR V6 and the 5 Speed Automatic. Don't know what they are thinking, I bet they keep the 2010 model for 10 to 12 months.

It's surprising the US model still doesn't have all the goodies like UK's (rain sensing wipers, power-folding side mirrors, 3.7L engine with 7-speed auto, etc.).

I hope the new USB audio connection (only real change in US model?) is just a cable I can buy for my 2008's to replace my iPod-only one, so I can use it to control iRiver Clix2 and Palm Pre.

I think the reason Infiniti did not make a lot of changes to the 2010 EX35, sold in the USA is because American's are so price sensitive right now. The 3.5L V6 in the EX is a great motor, I really don't think it would add very many sales if they went to the 3.7L, the 7 speed automatic would be a small benifit, but not huge. If they added more content and went with the 3.7L and 7 speed automatic, they might need to cut back on some of the incentives, end result a higher net price. Right now, most buyers are being influnienced by the great net prices available, the bottom line, price is more important than the added value of the 3.7L and 7 speed automatic. That's my guess.
