Infiniti Air filter's oiled?

I picked up a new filter at the dealer today and noticed that the factory air filter is oiled. Have I not been paying close enough attention, did I get a special filter? If they are oiled from the factory, why all the fuss about K&N's?

They are dry from the factory. Normal paper media.

They may just put some greasy stuff on it to keep it "fresh"... Theyre not oiled in the same way K/N filters are.
