The T Bird got rave reviews. People were paying over MSRP to get on a list to get one as it was late coming out. Interior was top quality leather and the jag J30 motor although just 250 odd horses could keep this baby moving along smartly. A top of the line Ford product everyone wrote.

Compared to my old M45 it is a piece of crap. I bought a 2002 convertible to have some fun. It's just a sticking Ford with inside parts stolen from other Fords. For a $40k car said to be a notch below Infiniti with improvement coming to aim directly at Infiniti there is no comparison. My Infiniti out classes it so bad it has convinced me my next new, not so much for fun is going to be an Infiniti. Ford can keep their over priced junk. I'll have my fun in the t Bird for a summer or two and then sell it Back to the Infiniti dealer I will go looking for a ride I like.

It was bad out of the gate. Looked terrible too.
About as expensive as a base 'vette of the same year, nowhere near as fast, worse fuel mileage than a 'vette and smaller too. Damn glovebox is even smaller.

They just marketed it as a "return of a classic", then crapped all over it and it was gone again in a couple of years.

All true. But now its a classic going up in bucks. The price of the 500 fifty anniversary edition is going insane. There is a Neiman Marcus edition. Never saw one or heard of it. Sounds like the Eddie Baur and Harley Davidson cars and trucks you could buy. Pay a premium for a name, some decals and a few metal names, just insane. As usual Ford took a great idea and f'd it all up. They do it with car one or garbage upgrades as time goes by. Kill the iconic Mustang? Those corp execs must be on some special designer drug only they have.

Started with T Bird one. Nobody wanted a stinking vette. The T Bird was the car to buy. T Bird is gone and the Corvette has progressed into one awesome car, no less its a steal at the price and competing and winning againist $100K machines. Personal I don't like the vettes except for the older non sting rays. But I appreciate what it is. All old vettes I love, but the 67 with the 427 is one of the best they made. Then look at Ford..........they have nothing to sell except cheap junk and now they are doing a good job of ruining the 150. The 2002 may have a good under carriage but no way is the interior and total package worth $40K+ but they are so bad they are becoming collector cars like the poor marketing failure the Edsel. Try to find an Edsel or Skyliner today without paying a fortune. Ford should change its motto to, what we f up becomes a classic.

There were 1500 of the 50th anniv cars made for the 2005 model year.
Don't know about insane though... http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-200 ... ion-t44119 These examples don't look insane but I guess only losing half their value in 10 years isn't terrible either.

Those are cheap, cheap. There is alot of scamming going on. There are certain things to look for if its a true 2005 50th anniversary. I don't see them. I think this jerk is calling all 2005's 50th Anniversary just because they were made in 2005. As we know there is a true special 50th. I read 500 made. Where did you get your number? I still can't find a Neiman Marcus edition. Bottom line in my OP is they are classics already and rare to see one anymore. They are going up in value soon. Trust me. I predicted all interest rates were going up 2 weeks before it actually started. I locked in at the lowest interest rate and am now busting my a** and pushing everyone to close before my lock in expires. I went all cash 1 year before 2008 hit. Lost nothing and actually made a few when it did hit. My wife and everyone was calling me nuts and I should be buying stocks. Nope, I was selling everything I had and went all cash. I am a strange one. Maybe it's the little green men I talk to at night when the dog stops talking its a** off,

Me wrong on numbers. A 2005 for that price at that auction? Sounds almost impossible. There are a few weird ones out there. Yours sounds almost like the one Marilyn Monroe owned. My OP, They are going to go up. Us old guys remember owning and driving both and our numbers are going down. Price goes up, maybe. Its a fun strange little car regardless. For some reason everyone asks about mine. Maybe they don't remember the big deal when they first came out.
