My car is an Infiniti 2002 Q45. I recently noticed that the ignition key always a little stucks when I'm trying to pull it out. I'm just wondering if it's a simple sign that the juice of the key battery is running out, or the remote is having a serious problem. I have 2 keys, however one of the keys can only open the doors, and the other one can only ignite. If it's a MUST to get an extra key?Thank you for your idea!

Are you sure it's factory key that got stucked? Most after market keys get stuck since it's not properly alight inside ignition lock. Use 300 grits sand paper sand both sides of the key smoothly ( dont sand too much just take roughness out of it) make sure stray some W40 when u done. Enjoy your new modded key.

The F50 (02-06 Q45) uses an integrated remote control and ignition key, with a detachable key for the door and glove box. It's not like the old-style metal key for the ignition switch. Per his info, technically, he has only 1 set of key. I'm not sure what happened to the other set of keys.

Make sure the tip of you ignition key is clean (do not sand). Also check the car battery - should be >12.5 VDC with engine off.

actually, it's not a key, and you damn well better not sand it!!!! reallllyyyy bad advise.

It's a remote with a nub. NO KEY NO METAL NO SANDIthe nub sticks in about 1/2 inch. the 'key' is an electronic chip in the nub.

The is a metal key hidin inside the remote incase the battery in the remote dies. If used that key all of 3 times in 178000 miles.
