I've been wondering forever if this engine swap would ever work,luckaly my dad thinks every motor is the same thing such as like honda motors,but I needed an engine sooner or later so desperately I. Went and got the j30 vg30 for my z,it jus got here yesterday,I found a lot of different stuff like manifols,upper plenum(since the j30 intakes are in an S form in the front the hose positions change)oil dipstick,oil pan,ptu is in the back of the plenum,balance tube,etc. I recomend if you're willing to do a j30 vg swap;do NOT throw the old z32 engine away just yet,you might need a lot of parts to swap from the z vg30 to the j30 vg. Oh and also the motor mounts change as well,in between the manifolds swap you might have to take the oil dipstick out so the manifold can be able to fit in,after you put the manifold,put the dipstick back in place. Back of engine so far 1 thing needs to be changed and that is 1 hose or tube from the EGR. And a couple more things that I have not found yet to swap.I'm still in progress in this engine swap but so far its going well just putting some work onto the engine.I haven't drove my z in 1 year and can't seem to save up 800$ so I just went the cheapest way. 500$ for the j30 vg with 97,XXX miles on it and its from a 1997 j30 =) but it didn't bring me the ac compressor so I'll be driving it with less weight and no air =/ as soon as I finish I'm uploading videos onto youtube I'll come back and give out the 411 on that 1. Future mods to the car will be weight reduction and a lot of supension goodies for drifting!!And I know that somebody will be saying stuff like : oh its too heavy,its not a drifter,or they expensive.....let me tell you.....its an FR 5 speed car,expensive? BMW's are expensive my friend and its not a drift cat its a luxury car,and retards still drift on them smh! Weight? Mustang,charger,viper,supra they're all heavy and still in the D1 championships event even tho they are heavy but powerful.
