Was going to change the oil on the car a couple weeks back and the weather was extremely hot. Hood wouldn't release, thought it was due to the heat so tried again when the weather was significantly cooler. The release lever will pull back but there is no release on the hood. Any idea of what I can do to get the hood open and fix this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried having someone pull up on the hood while you pull the release? If that works clean up the mechanizm and lubricate it and you should be OK. They tend to get gummed up and stick sometimes.
