Hear it is Boys and girls. I am finally up grade the system in my A/C. This is going to be a on going thread, and will be updated as I add new parts. If money grew on trees I would have it all now, but I work for what I have so it will all be done in time.

What I will be putting in:2- 10" Alpine SWX1043D Subs2- Alpine PDX 1.1000 amps1- Alpine PDX 4.150 ampAlpine SPX17Pro 6.5" Component SpeakersAlpine IVA W505 In Dash Alpine NVE P1 Removable Nav DriveAlpine DHA-S690 6-Disc DVD Changer Tsunami 10400 Wireing Kit6x9" Speakers- UndecidedB-Quit Sound Deadiner

I Picked up the Tsunami Duel Amp 1 gage wireing kit today from Circuit City. They are going out of business as you may know, and it was marked down from $250. I paid $70 out the door. hahaha

The Type 2 X Subs and 1 PDX1.1000 amps will be arriving on Friday. Just in time for me to install them for the meet.

I will be makeing a custom fiber glass enclosure for the subs and amps. Unfortunitly I wont have the boxes done for a few weeks. I have a old box that will house the subs for the big meet.

I installed the Power Wires today and was it ever a pain in the A$$. But I found a spot to run the wires without having to drill.

On the drivers side There is a large Rubber Grommit that seals the large budle of wires that runs into the engine bay. I had to make a slit in the carpet so I could get to this Grommit. I was able to stick a screw driver in between the grommit and wall and held it open while I fed the wire threw. I started at the trunk and made my way forward.

This is the temp box I will be using untill I get a few days off to work on the fiber glass

This is sort of what the finished product should look like.

More to come soon........

P.S. Big thanks goes out to BroadField for getting me a great price on everything and rushing the shipment so I can have it before the meet.

Nice!

Speed Force must have drilled a spot for my power wire because I have a hole in my firewall, just to the right of that spot you cut through, where we ran all my wiring and battery cables.

Good luck with it man! Everything shipped out as scheduled. I look forward to seeing how your fiberglass project comes out. Just give me a shout if you need any more pointers or suggestions on glassing.

Thanks everyone. Yea, feading the power wire threw that grommit was alot of work, Luckily I am only 5'7" so I was just able to lay down in the drivers seat upside down. hahaha

Friday is going to be a very long day. It is the grand opening event at my store so I will be at work all day, then come home and finishing installing the subs and amp. Then wake up real early for the big meet. Thats why I need to have the majority of the wires ran before Friday.

Again, Thank You Broadfield for hooking me up. I would fully reccomend anyone looking to upgrade there system hit him up. I found cheeper prices on line but they are un authorized dealers so the warrantee would of been out the window. Toby gave me everything at half the price a few local shops quoted me and is getting it to me in less than a week.

Toby, send me some business cards and I will gladly hand them out. May be some extra business if you can get them to me by saturday. Pass them out like candy on halloween at the meet.

..YES.. I LOVE IT... I love the fact that someone else other than Applebonker and I decided to go ape $hit in our trunks and put in a banging a$$ stereo system.... (on a side note, sorry Sean for not being able to call you back about the wiring, but looks like you got it taken care of)

Also, be sure to get some extra wires and do the Big 3 upgrade... WARNING, its a BIATCH getting to the correct angle to attach the upgrade Battery -> alternator power wire. You will see what I mean when you tackle it... if you weren't leaving so soon, we could go by the shop in get the exact setup I used to finally get it on there

In any case, moderators, could you PLEASE leave this here for a few days before you move it to the audio section?

Again, congrats again on getting the setup started... hopefully you are satisfied with your front components.. staying with one company for everything sounds nice in theory, but no one company makes great everything!

For Alpine, your headunit, nav unit, and subs are great... you may get more out of your setup if you grab the Alpine PXA-H701 digital EQ and active X over. For sound quality, that would take your system to the next level! I'm not sure how useful the DVD-changer would be, and if you haven't bought it yet, I think Applebonker would agree that that $400 for the H701 is worth every penny... $uck it, just gimme a call when you get a chance!

If he hasn't purchased them yet and is buying from me, then I will force him to buy the Hybrid Audio components

I searched for a long time trying to find a good 3 way component setup! I went with the 2008 Diamond Audio Hex Series 6.5" midbass, couple to the 4" and 1" MB Quartz premium components . All of this is run through the Audio Control DQXS digital EQ and active crossover system. Sounds amazing to me!! But I know its not the best out there... things can always be improved, but for me, this is great for now!

How's the midbass on those Hybrids?

Grounding kit is cool, but it doesn't solve the power problems associated with aftermarket sound systems. Two of the big three are already provided in the grounding kit.. but the power wire to the Alternator is actually the most important thing you could have... Dude, you're running 2 x 1000 watt amplifiers.. that's gonna reak Havoc on your factory charging system (battery and alternator)

My suggestion would be to replace your factory batery with a Kinetik HC 1800 power cell

(that's the largest that will fit perfectly in your stock battery tray) and also get another batter for the trunk.

For the trunk batteries, I went with 2 x Kinetik HC 600's

Applebonker went with 1 Kinetk HC 2400...

another good option is a Batcap!

Ok, then All I need to do is run one more wire to the altinator. I allready knew I was going to need to upgrade my battery and get a second battery.

And I will be running 2600 watts. You forgot the 600 watt 4 channel for the components. hahaha

All the more reason to throw that HC2400 in the trunk..... if you can find the room for it! Applebonker hid his nicely!

Ok, I got my subs and amp in today, and wow. These type X's have some weight to them. I can see why they wont fit in that pre made ebay box. The magnets are huge. I started installing them, but haft to finish when I can get some more wire.

I've probably got a few more if you want them, but it's not going to work for you since you plan to put a sub where my battery is. You might be able to do something similar up near the back seat, however. Sounds like you're having a good time so far, and I'm excited to see the final product.

And I agree about the size of the Type-x subs. I was surprised at my 12" when I got it. Definitely has some beef to it.

ok boys and girls, I have the temporary set up complete. Still working out a few bugs, but these subs pound.

The problem I seem to be having now is hopefully with the hi low converter. The subs will play fine at low volume, then when I turn the volume about half way up, the amp shuts off, then back on then off and back on. I tried adjusting the settings on the amp, but nothing works. So I think the crappy wal-mart hi low converter has gone bad and can't handle the power. But hear is the set up. for now.

Yea I will be doing a full write up after I do the fiber glass. If you are just adding a sub and amp to your stock head unit. You can pretty much do the entire install from the truck. don't even need to take out the deck.

P.S. After I do the fiberglass enclosures, I will probably be selling that sub box. It fits pretty well. Any Takers?
