I"m goign to buy one from my local car audio place. They are a$$ses and won't sell me remote start because my car is manual. What they didn't understand was that my car will have to be out of gear because of my turbo timer.

Remote start on a manual transmission car is not a problem when you use products designed to work on manual transmission cars. ALL Clifford G4 and G5 model alarms (NOT CLIFFORD MATRIX) can do remote start on manuals safely. You must go through an exit procedure or it will not attempt to start. I own it and I sell/install them.

For anyone looking at this thread that is intrested in another cheap option, I just picked up a DEI (DEI owns Clifford now) keyless entry system from Circuit City for $60.

I'm glad you posted. Remote start on a 5 speed is NO PROBLEM if you use products designed for it. Cliford G4 and G5 products require you to go through an exit procedure which makes you leave the car in neutral. If you do not go through the exit procedure, the car will not attempt to start which will prevent the picture you posted. It is safe and works great. I've owned and sold the for YEARS.<--- Will install remote start on a 5 speed all day long.

Why I'm sure it's not recommended. You could just use a remote start for an auto right? Just have to keep clutch depressed?Or signal for it.

I am a Directed Electroncs(DEI) dealer and i highly recomend the Valet 561. It is a remote start keyless entry and comes wioth one remote. Dont waste your money on pep boys or sams club doi it yourself pieces as they are not worth it. I have installed over 200 of these remote starter with minimal equpment problems. They work great, range ios good, reliability is awsome, and price inst too bad at about $75 dealer cost.
