What are some inexpensive mods I can add to my car? Strut Bar? Muffler? Fuel Filters? Other Filters?

And is the 292.60 it would take to purchase the Injen CAI system really worth it.

If you like a really cool growl coming out of the front of your car its worth 262.90. Otherwise I don't think it is.

you can probaly just make your own CAI, just get a conical air filter and some pvc pipe and get rid of your stock air box.

The best free mod is to remove useless crap, remember the opposite of adding horsepower to make your car faster is making it lighter.

What kind of useless crap. And what about other inexpensive mods?

PS: I have decided to buy the CAI, I am not paying for it anyway (The lady who hit my car the other day is hehehehe...)

What about changing system wiring, will that help any, and if so, what brand should I get.

Hey just letting you know, PVC pipe is going to be horrible as far as heat goes, because it doesn't block heat well.

I'm a fan of inexpensive mods, but, as an engineer, these must work, that's a catch because sometimes you must spend some money, OK. With that in mind, here goes mine with comments.

Exhaust: Tried some configurations and various mufflers. Noticed that any sport (straight, free flow, etc) muffler what brings up is a lot of sound that gets inside the car and drives you crazy. So I went for a quieter option, but it's your choice if you want sound.Change cat for better flowing (Random Tech), replace tubing for 2.5" all the way to the muffler, replace muffler for better flowing factory style (IMCO) or sport; install nice tips. Obviously a header is a must (Hot Shots), but this expensive anywhere, so leave it for when you save.

Intake: Stillen K&N Kit works like a charm. I tried a cai using a cover on this kit, but actually reduced my power. I will try to device a shield type cai, like K&N's; Stillen doesn't have that. If you go for the quiet option in the exhaust, the kit will give a great sound anyway to the outside.

Sparks: Replace wires (Magnecor) for high performance and use better plugs (Bosch +4); some say they don't work, I've had no problems so far.

Use synthetic motor oil and Red Line's MTL manual transmission lubricant.

For now, that's it from me, but you can get more stuff with these guys. Good Luck.
