Okay, so I don't know if it’s a record... but I can tell you I was shocked.
My Rogue has been running so well that I've been agonizing over taking to the dealership for service. (i.e., if it works don't fix it). Not to mention the various horror stories in this forum related to dealership visits. More than anything… I wanted to wait a couple months until I knew my dealership had plenty of Rogue CVT software updates under their belt before throng them lose on my Rogue.
In all, I actually had several recall letters needing attention. 1) TPMS wheel nut update, 2) The Steering Column nut retainer update and 3) the CVT Programming update. In addition to these recalls… my Rogue was also due for a scheduled maintenance oil change.
So… I took my Rogue to the dealership today (the first time since I purchased it) I took the entire day off work since I planned on spending at least a half day sitting in the service department waiting room. In my mind I was hoping they could do all of the recall work and oil change in 3 to 4 hours.
Imagine my surprise when the service manager walked into the waiting room 58 minutes later and said my car was done! Less than one hour? Is that possible? Yep, I made note of the time on entering the waiting room so I could report on how long it took.
I turned to the service manager and said "You did everything… the programming, the oil change, the steering column and the wheel nuts? In less than an hour? He said "Yes, everything went smoothly"
Driving home I decided it could probably happen with enough mechanics doing the work, but I was still skeptical. When I got home I crawled under the car. Yep, the steering column nut clamp was in place and properly positioned. All the valve stems nuts had been replaced. Pulling the dipstick revealed clean oil and a peak into the wheel well found a shiny new oil filter. The only thing I can't verify if they did the work would be the reprogramming of the CVT. I’ve never had any rattles or vibration before the update. I can tell no difference in operation, noise or handling.
That said… I'm still in shock... 58 minutes!!! I'll admit very impressed. They had me in and out so fast I barely had time to check out the Krom they had on the lot.
