I think it was generally a fair review, but I don't see how their conclusion is so clear-cut. The cars are SO close in performance that it really comes down to the style and options you like better.I could have been happy with either car, but things that made me buy the Nissan: 1. Intelligent Key2. CVT (much more responsive than standard automatic)3. Body style

Things that almost made me buy the Honda:1. Remote start option2. Bigger trunk3. 18" Wheels option

Not sure why Edmunds didn't just say the same thing. It's about what's most important to you.

They should have changed the name of the car from the get go. It was not even close to the same animal it was before.

The fact reamains..it's just an altima....If it be 17K 2.5 or a 32K 3.5 with Nav.

That puts the car into flagship Maxima price range and Hell...G35 for that matter
Wild willy, as Generic said, if you do a pound for pound "build your car" with the exact same specs at each company's site, the A/C edges out the Accord in price. PERIOD. I'm not making this up..go to the actual Honda and Nissan sites, and do it, not Edmunds, or some other site that will NOT give you full factory options.

Now in regards to the Altima being overpriced... I'm reminded of a qoute.. "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet!" You can call the 3.5SE Altima, mini G, of BMF, it doesn't matter, its a sweet *** ride! What Nissan/Infiniti has managed to do is sell a FWD version of the G35...period. Look at the specs of the two, and you will see that they match up so well its scary. They've found a away to offer the G35 in a FWD packaged as bare bones or as loaded as one would want, and it doesn't hurt them one bit, now that the G37 is a different animal completely. Notice that the began the G37 at the same time as the A/C.. that's not a concidence! So yeah it has the name Altima, but by all accounts, it is a nicely built and priced piece of machinery! If you owned one, maybe you'd understand!

The "automatic" accord, there is no manual shift option. I like having the CVT but having the option to shift if I choose to. Even Acura has the shift option on there automatics so why not the accord?

It's all good, I'm always looking for a reason to spew venom about Hondas... I just hate 'em... yeah, they're good cars, but I hate them the same way folks hate good football teams...

um...did anyone see that big whale accord "poised & sure" or was it just me that it looked sloppy and very slidy ..too me it looks vice versa.
Check this out,

when they tested the Altima coupe by itself they got a slalom speed of 66.8, which is fater than the accord time. Strange how when testing it against the accord suddenly they couldn't make it go as fast...

You stad corrected the slalom speed was 68.8 MPH which means the A/C grips the road and the Honda slides it's *** all over the place I seen both vids. and the honda only went 66.2 MPH then couldn't stop cause the brakes get too hot ...
