Where can you buy ITB? I assume they have to be adapted to fit the KA, whats involved?

Pics above are of a TWM induction kit i believe. Mine is going to be all custom made.

Fuel control will be done with megasquirt, with a few different spark setups i have yet to try out.

Any problems running nitrous with ITB's? Obviously it'd have to be direct-port/wet, but are there any issues to be aware of?

Oh and who sells ITB for the ka?

^thats an interesting question... the thing id be worried about is one of the cylinders leaning out because it wasnt sure what ratio is coming out... maybe im not thinking it thru right, but thats what comes to mind first...

TWM induction sells manifolds and throttle bodies to fit ka24e TWM Induction

I am building my own custom manifold and using 4x 50mm throttle plates. They are dirty, but this is what im using

And your engine management Devious is.......???????

I really like the idea of ITBs but i dont want to pay for standalone, wondering if you had another method of doing this.

Megasquirt. Assemble/tune yourself, very efficient. Also uses a map vs. maf, and timing control expandability

Megasquirt

Where did you get the 50mm throttle bodies? What are they off of?

Does anyone have any write ups or some more info on how this setup works? How does it produce more hp? How is the throttle cable attached? What replaces the maf? Wouldn't a cold air intake produce more since the ITB's would be sucking in warm air from the engine bay?

The throttle bodies are 4 singles off of a standard plenum efi setup on a 4 cyl. Many different types/sizes/manufactures could be used.

Check out the Twm site, they have a small faq on the basics. As for throttle linkage i am mounting mine vertically and building my linkage underneath the manifold.

Search around, you can easily find the benefits of using individual throttles (carbs or efi) for both turbo and naturally aspirated. Cold air is better air, i plan on eventually building an intake plenum similar to that of a nasport setup. This will somewhat hamper the flow capabilities of exposed throttles with air horns unless a very large plenum is used.
I tried to do this demcj style, but im stupid and dont know how.

do they have them for the KA24DE, also, or is it just for the E?I didn't think ITBs were valued in the States. They are really popular back home. Especially for the NA people (AE86, silvia, civic etc.etc.) If I couldn't find any, I was thinking about modifying 4 carbs and fit the EFI system. I've seen this done before, but would rather pay a little extra for ITBs w/ ITBs already integrated in it (I know I can make it work, but MAY look a tad getto). As for the ECU, I've seen a couple of people who have placed the MAF inside one of the ITBs to get measurement of air (I'm talking about just the sensor, but the whole housing--a little bit if cutting and fabing). That was one of those inexpensive setups. I would highly suggest converting it to MAP readout.

The TWM kit is available for the ka24e because they sell throttle bodies that utilize weber dcoe, mikuni, dellorto etc.. carb pattern. These are made to be used with the nissan motorsports carb manifold for ka24e. Ka24de manifolds would need to be made custom, building to fit carb type pattern or whatever throttle plates were to be used. I have heard of people using gutted/sealed sidedraft carbs as throttle bodies with injectors bosses welded in down the line, as well as a custom fuel rail. For what you get out of this, i would think it is better just to make your own custom setup like i am doing or buy one of those universal throttle plate assemblies and weld on.

I pondered the single throat maf setup for a while until i stumbled across megasquirt, the factory ecu with maf setup really is not suitable for itb. Way to many new tuning variables that need to be compensated for.
