Just purchased a 2009 G37X. The sales people are nice but do not have email at their dealership and they are hard to get on the phone.

I noticed a little "I" (letter I) or "1" (one) in a small box to the right the large "D" on the display when the car is in Drive. I know I do not have it in the Drive Sport mode. (I did not bump the shifter over to the left.) I've searched throught the enitre Owners Manual and cannot find what that little number or letter is beside the D is indicating. (I also have the "Snow Mode" turned off.

Welcome to NICO!

Not sure about the light...did you look at your manual?

I think what you're seeing is the number 1. The odometer can calculate two different trips.

Should that be 'A' or 'B' not '1' or '2'?

It is on mine, I dunno what the 09s are. It's the first thing that popped into my head and the only thing I could think of.

I wonder if it's the automatic drive positioner:

Check page 3-29 - 3-32 in your manual. The 1 could be setting 1...or the "i" could be the system is initialized.

As long as you and I mean the same thing, mine is 'A' or 'B' and located in a different location.

My eye sight isn't what it used to be. It's actually the letter A and I assume it means the shifter is in Automatic as opposed to Drive Sport. (which shows up as "DS" on the display. (But the A is still there in Drive Sport mode.)

Have another item. Whne the iginition is turned off the driver's seat moves back and the steering wheel goes up, to allow for ease of exiting and entering the car. Nice feature but I don't find it necessary. Any way to turn that off. (And, yes, I've read the Owner's Manual from front to back.)

Short of pulling the fuze or rewiring...no. It is a neat little trick though!

Definitely the odometer. Try pushing the odo button and see if it changes to B.

I think you will find the seat settings under (2008 Auto Sedan page 3-29):

Cancel or activate entry/exit functionThe selector lever must be in the P (Park)position with the ignition switch in the OFFposition. The entry/exit function can be activated orcanceled by pressing and holding the SETswitch for more than 10 seconds.Activating or canceling the entry/exit functionusing the SET switch also activates or cancelsthe seat synchronization function. The indicator lights on the memory switches (1and 2) will blink once when the function iscanceled, and the indicator lights will blinktwice when the function is activated. Note thatthe indicator lights may illuminate after 5 secondswhile holding the SET switch. This indicatesreadiness for linking the Intelligent Key toa stored memory position. Keep the SET switchpressed for more than 10 seconds to turn on oroff the entry/exit function. The entry/exit function can also be activated orcanceled if the Lift Steering Wheel on Exit keyor Slide Driver Seat Back on Exit key is turnedto ON or OFF in the Comfort & Conv. settings.(See VEHICLE INFORMATION AND SETTINGS inthe 4. Monitor, climate, audio, phone andvoice recognition systems section.)
